The Ghoul is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII-2. It has low HP and does not deal a potent amount of damage. They spawn at the beginning of the chapter in Academia 400 AF, but disappear shortly after the player advances the area. The Ghouls award only 1 CP and no gil, making them more of a nuisance than a formidable enemy.


A ghoul is a folkloric monster associated with graveyards and consuming human flesh, often classified as undead.


  • In Final Fantasy XIII, the Ghouls could be seen casting something that seemed to be Cure. They still have this trait, however, it now says 'Remedy' when they do. It is unknown why they do so in the first place. It is speculated that their former selves do it in a last resort to become human again.
    • Although it says 'Remedy', the casting animation is the same as the one for Cure.
