MissionEdit

Mission 12: Geiseric, the ProfaneEdit

Class: C
Stone Location: Archylte Steppe - Arid Strath
Mark Location: Archylte Steppe - Western Benchland

The Undying-fearsome Cie'th who defy fal'Cie will, driven by an intense loathing of all that lives. Geiseric, the Profane, is of their number, and my Focus is his doom. He is said to lead a horde of Cie'th on the steepe's western benchland.
To think you would become such a Cie'th, Geiseric! You, who would not harm a fly. Whatever part of you lingers in that grotesque prison of crystal and flesh must suffer. I will set you free my friend.

StrategyEdit

Start of in Tri-Disaster (RAV/RAV/RAV) to stagger it quickly. If Percussive Blow takes the party's health too low, change to Tireless Charge (COM/COM/MED) or Discretion (MED/COM/MED). At some point in the fight, Geiseric will use Murderous Might, which will allow Geiseric to be targeted in two locations: Geiseric and Geiseric's Fist. When that happens it will use a powerful move called Dominating Fist, which can do a lot of damage and hit all characters if they're all in one part of the stage. However, it won't do as much damage if the party are at a high level. When it uses it, a good strategy is to switch to Combat Clinic (MED/SEN/MED) to heal and defend or Discretion (MED/COM/MED) to heal and stop the chain gauge from decreasing and continue damaging it while recovering. If Dominating Fist leaves you with extremely low HP, use Salvation (MED/MED/MED), which will make all characters heal in large volumes. It will then either attack normally or use Savage Stomp, which shouldn't do much damage, but will damage all characters. It can also use Savage Stomp even if it didn't use Murderous Might. If you defeat Geiseric's Fist, it will go back to using Percussive Blow. Eventually it will use Murderous Might again in the fight and then will go back to Dominating Fist. If you stagger it, it would be a good idea to Summon an Eidolon, or attack with Cerberus (COM/COM/COM) or keep using Tri-Disaster (RAV/RAV/RAV). Try to defeat it in under 20 minutes, even if the party is not at high levels, as after 20 minutes, it will inflict Doom. But the player should still be able to beat it before the timer runs out, or one could save TP to summon an Eidolon to stop the timer, or use an Elixir if the player already used TP to summon.

Strategy 2Edit

Beforehand, use Fortisol and Aegisol to prevent any need to use any time to enhance your party. Start off with a Librascope and Countermeasure (SAB/SAB/SEN), as to reduce the damage taken and the high use of healing. Have at least one character who is at least a Level 4 Saboteur like Vanille. And have someone who knows Cursega like Hope or Fang. If Geiseric damages your party to at least 2,000 HP, quickly switch over to a paradigm with at least one Medic or two. Once you're all healed up, switch to Smart Bomb. Geiseric will apparently change where you are targeting from his head to his fist. Spells like Deshellga will still have effect on Geiseric's face, but you can't target it until you defeat his fist. Once Geiseric is staggered to a high point, switch to Cerberus to finish him off. It is even possible to defeat Geiseric in under six minutes at Crystarium Stage 9.

EtymologyEdit

Geiseric is another spelling of Genseric, the 5th century king of Vandals and Alans that played a key role in the ultimate demise of the Western Roman Empire.
