It can drop Mystery Fluids that allows Quistis to learn the Blue Magic spell Acid, and also refine into Meltdowns.

Gayla is known to hypnotize its enemies, inflicting Sleep. At times, once the enemy sleeps, Gayla will attack with its headbutt. It is possible to avoid the Sleep attack by pressing and as if to escape during the attack animation. Its attack, Gastric Juice, causes HP damage equal to 50% of target's HP. This attack is physical in nature and can be avoided with high evasion and luck.
