Gandof

The Summoner Gandof, later High Summoner Gandof, was one of the four summoners who defeated Sin using the Final Aeon in times past the story in Final Fantasy X. Statues of Gandof can be seen in the temples of Yevon.
Before becoming a high summoner, Gandof helped the people of Spira by sealing up the Qactuar roaming about the Thunder Plains in stone. Also, he was the first to get the idea of building Lightning Rod Towers throughout the Thunder Plains, thus stopping most of the lightning from hitting idle passers-by. During his final battle with Sin, Gandof left his mark with the formation of a huge rift in Calm Lands.
His name is a play on Gandalf, the wizard from the famous Lord of the Rings movies and books.
