Template:Sideicon Template:FFXIII-2 Enemies The Gancanagh is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Battle

It appears in groups with others of its kind or with Gancanagh Aces. Unlike most goblins, it appears to be unable to use Rise to Power in order to become an Ace should the current Ace be defeated. Thus, the Ace in a group should be targeted and defeated before the Gancanaghs.

It is quite common to fight for recruitment on the edges of the Clearwater Marshes in Windy and Sunny weather; in Rainy weather, the Moblin enemies take over. It is less common in the Stonestump Wastelands, probably due to a longer list of other spawn types. It is an excellent source of Mana Essence, available very early in the game; however, later in the game, it may be more efficient, or the player may prefer, to kill a boss such as Yomi or Raspatil for the large cash reward, and simply buy the Mana Essences.

Paradigm Pack

Gancanagh is a Saboteur and is the best source of Heavy Fogga for infusion; Clematis does not get it until level 43. It is also the best source of Fogga of any kind, as the normal version of Fogga is not available from any source, including Feral Links. Gancanagh requires 22 Grade three Biological monster materials (Orbs) to get to level 12, when it learns Heavy Deprotega. It takes 26 more to get to level 17, where it learns Heavy Fogga. It takes a final 18 Orbs to get to its maximum level of 20, for a total of 66 Orbs and 39,600 Gil.
