The Gáe Bulg, meaning "spear of mortal pain/death spear", "gapped/notched spear", or "belly spear", was the name of the spear of Cúchulainn, the Hound Of Ulster in the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology. It is, according to different legends, a spear with 7 barbs, a spear with seven spikes, each with seven barbs, a spear with seven spikes that shoot out like poison darts or a notched spear made from the bones of a sea monster.
