[edit] Prologue
During the opening teaser, Chocoimo appears and welcome the viewers to her room. She then explains the mechanics of Chobi's transformation into the Legendary Ciel chocobo, accompanied by scenes from the previous episode of the transformation. Fabula then appears and urges viewers to prepare for the journey ahead. "There is a man of mushrooms called... Fungus."

- "Fungus! You already proved you can't defeat the Black Wind and now you can't even find Omega. That's so sad. You know what that means, don't you? You know, if you don't do as I say, I'll be mad."

The episode opens with the Earl beholding an Omega crystal. She's surprised by it small size and Oscha explains that if Omega's urge to destroy is quelled, it turns into that form. Herba presents her crystal, stating that 2,990 of her "cac-baby servants" were destroyed in the process. Pist is unimpressed and says that he was able to easily secure an Omega crystal in the ocean regions. Just then, Makenshi appears and presents an enormous Omega crystal. The Earl is awed and Pist gripes that he never expected a competition in size. The Earl rewards Makenshi by making him the fifth lord of Gaudium. Fungus appears on the scene and the Earl asks where his piece is. He says he's yet to find one. "Not so good," chides Herba. The Earl warns him that if he doesn't do as she says, he'll be mad.
[edit] A Moment of Rest?
- "You know, I've never seen you asleep That's kind of strange."
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine."
"You're going to be so tired if you keep this up without rest."
"Well, I believe that you must try with all your might to help those in need. I guess it's just the way I was taught." - —Yu and Lisa
Ai, Yu, Lisa and Chobi continue their journey on the Ghost Train. Ai, Yu and Chobi all sleep, while Lisa sits in quiet contemplation. As a gentle theme plays, Yu awakes and bids Lisa good morning. He asks if she slept any and she says that she did a little bit. He says he's never seen her asleep, which is kind of strange and she explains that she was taught to help those in need with all her might. Chobi awakes and Yu asks if they woke him. He says he's sure that Chobi will be just fine with them, referring to the events from the previous episode when Chobi briefly left the party to join a pack of chocobos. Ai then awakens, looking a bit grumpy. Lisa asks her what's wrong and she asks what's to eat. Seemingly in response, Chobi grabs on to her hair with his beak and starts flailing her around. "He seems happy after all" comments Yu and Lisa wonders if that's how he says that he likes someone. "No way are you Ciel chocobo," shouts Ai, ordering him to stop thrashing her around.

Chastised, Fungus stalks about, stating that he's got to give it his all and prove his worth. Oscha then appears, saying that Fungus is just the man he wanted to see. He tells him that Crux has discovered a place that might interest him, one that will increase the power of his strength. As Fungus ponders this, Kaze arrives in the place that Oscha was just describing. He tries to recall just who he's fighting. "My enemy is the White Cloud, Makenshi."
Fungus and Oscha arrive in a blimp and Fungus describes the place as being identical to his hometown in every detail. Oscha tells him that it is his hometown-- a long time ago, a part of Fungus's world was taken in by Wonderland. Oscha is delighted. It was a long time ago that his world was consumed and he's been trusting the Earl with his hopes of its restoration. His ambitions are now being resurrected. He tells Oscha to give the Earl an important message: "Fungus, one of his four Lords of Gaudium, will restore his homeworld and once again and, furthermore, let it be known to him that with the power of our newfound strength, I solemnly vow that we shall also succeed in acquiring Omega." Oscha responds that everything is for his excellency and departs.
Ai, Yu, Lisa and Chobi disembark from the train and venture into the new world, which Ai immediately shouts stinks like mold. When they arrive, they're far too high up, so Chobi transforms into the legendary Ciel to lower them to safer height. Ai is forced to admit that he really is the legendary Ciel chocobo, even if all he can do is fly. "It's enough for me," comments Lisa. "Thanks Chobi." Down on safer ground, the kids smell a pleasant smell. Lisa is distrustful of the smell, which seems to be coming from the mushrooms. Ai pokes at one of them and ends up getting sprayed in the face. As she runs about, spores gather in the air and the party's attention focuses on Fungus, who is standing atop a giant mushroom.

- "All of these spores in the air are fighting for him. That's his power."
"Soil is my power!" - —Lisa and Kaze
Fungus asks what they're doing there and Ai tells him that if he has a problem, he can take it up with the Ghost Train. Suddenly, Kaze appears behind them. Ai urges him to "hurry up and get rid of that chump." Fungus tells Kaze to prepare to die and Lisa says that something about where they are is different than any other place they've been to. Fungus proclaims that he's busy preparing to restore his world and they have no business interfering with him. He spits and them and says that this spot will be their graveyard. "Your graveyard" responds Kaze and starts shooting at him. The rest of the group takes cover, but Kaze's shots have no effect. Fungus urges him to break out the Magun. He says that this place is the birthplace of his soul and everything there exists to feed his power. He inhales deeply, growing to a mammoth size and then punches Kaze, sending him reeling. "You're not one to be defeated so easily! Get up!" he shouts at Kaze. Lisa realizes that the spores in the air are fighting for him-- his power. Kaze has a power of his own. The Magun has thawed and he uses it to summon Ixion. "Bring it on! Bring it on!" shouts Fungus. "Is he gone?" asks Yu from the safe place where he and the others are hiding, but Ai responds that he doesn't think Fungus is going to go down that easily. Kaze is knocked back by the strength of the attack and Chobi again transforms into the legendary Ciel so that he can transport the others to safe place to watch from above. At first, it appears that Fungus has been vanquished, but then the spores gather and he starts coming back together. He laughs evilly as he is restored.
[edit] Neither Lightning nor Fire...
- "So, as you see, the graveyard in which to rest your bones has been decided."
"It is you who will rest in your grave. The Soil will soon claim you!" - —Fungus and Kaze
Fully restored, Fungus declares that he would never walk into a fight he could not know he could win. He says that his body is tingling all over with ever-increasing power. "Everything that moves her moves for me," he warns Kaze. "It's all for the sake of his excellency, the Earl" shouts Fungus and from above, Ai shouts at him to just give up. Kaze, however, does not give up. The two shout threats at each other and Ai realizes that Kaze isn't giving up. This time, Kaze summons Phoenix. "You're an imbecile" rages Fungus. "Anything you do will have the same fruitless results!" Indeed, at first it seems as if the attack might work. Fungus says that the tingling from before is combining with the burning of the fire and that it might be too hot. He explodes from the force of the fire. In fact, the entire area burns up. "To think it destroyed everything in this whole area" muses Lisa. "Not so fast!" shouts Fungus. Both he and the area are restored by the spores. He says that he really thought he was going to die, but "this land indestructible." He says he now has but one goal, to kill Kaze, and again punches him out of sight. As he laughs his menacing laugh, Yu shouts they've gotta do something.
- "I've never seen such a flow of energy I knew it. This place is..."

[edit] Prophecy
Fabula states that she cannot predict right now, wondering if there is any summon that can possibly defeat the immortal Fungus. "Even now, White Cloud, the immortal knight, begins his attack on the Dark Wind. Meteor: Abominable Memory. I'll be back with more Unlimited guidance."
