The Funguar is an enemy in Final Fantasy X encountered on the Mushroom Rock Road. Its main attack is Fire and when attacked physically it commonly counters with Pollen which causes Sleep. If the party is not properly prepared, this small mushroom-like fungus can be deadly as after the first attack it will put all party members to sleep and then continually cast Fire which does not wake characters up. Facing three of these fiends can be a daunting challenge if the party has no protection from Sleep attacks.

The Funguar also appears later in stronger forms as Thorn (in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth), Exoray (within Sin); and in the Monster Arena as Sleep Sprout. Each one's attacks are very similar.
