The Freelancer (すっぴん, Suppin^?) is a crown in Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. It is the default job class, available from the beginning of the game.

The Freelancer's special ability allows the player to keep their gems after the party is knocked out. The Freelancer crown cannot be upgraded and cannot learn any abilities, so the only benefit of bringing one into battle is if the player's party is wiped out.

The Freelancer has low Stat Growth and no actual proficiency with any type of weapon. They are somewhat useful in the beginning of the game, but as new jobs become available it is highly suggested the player no longer uses this crown. The Freelancer crown is the only job in the game that lacks any type of crown armor.
