One of the viera, a mysterious race that dwells among the trees. Fran turned her back on the Wood and her people to see the wider world. Now she travels Ivalice with her sky pirate partner Balthier, with whom she shares a deep and powerful bond.
Fran is a playable character who can be recruited as the First Time Reward for completing the Core Dungeon Nalbina Dungeons.
Fran is a Sky Pirate whose combat role is Physical Speed.
Fran is one of many characters whose assigned ranking scores betray her value to the party. A capable markswoman, Fran is most at ease with bows. Yet unlike most Rangers, she has good HP growth. She can be quick to unleash one of her devastating Soul Breaks, or simply wear foes down with an array of Support and Celerity abilities at her command. Either way, Fran is a solid acquisition entering the middle game, and well worth the trip taken to add her to the party.
Her default Soul Break is Feral Strike which at the expense of one Soul Gauge segment deals physical damage to one target equal to 150% damage potency of a conventional attack. The bow Loxley Bow (XII) allows Fran to use Whip Kick which at the expense of one Soul Gauge segment deals physical damage to one target equal to 380% damage potency of a conventional attack and reduces its Defense and Resistance by 50% for 10 seconds. The bow Traitor's Bow (XII) grants Fran the Super Soul Break Mist Overload, which for one Soul Gauge segment unleashes seven ranged physical hits on a single target as Fran breaks down all of its offensive and defensive stats for a short time; upon its mastery, Fran's Attack increases permanently by 10 points.
Fran can equip the following weapon types: daggers, spears, rods, staves, and bows. The bow Loxley Bow (XII) allows Fran to use Whip Kick. The bow Traitor's Bow (XII) allows Fran to use Mist Overload.
She can equip accessories.

Fran appears with the official artwork of her riding a hoverbike and with her Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy artworks. Her cards are wind-elemental, reflecting her use of bow and arrow in battle, and perhaps also the viera's ability to listen to the Golmore Jungle by interpreting the words in gusts of wind, although Fran is said to have lost the ability to converse with the wood.
Fran appears on Triple Triad cards in the version playable via Final Fantasy Portal App.
Fran appears as a playable character in Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Portable.
