I've been wondering for awhile how exactly the buster sword stays on Cloud and Zack's backs during the game. Is there a magnet in the SOLDIER uniform or something?

It's been said that it might have been held on with a strong magnet, yes. Cloud and Zack must have titanium-reinforced spines or something. Angeal was a beast, he could manage perfectly well. Mind you, if it was held on with a magnet, it would take a helluva mighty pull to remove it!

I'm replaying FFXII and noticed the Ice Shield (maybe all shields then) has nothing to attach it to the wearer. Glue? ;) Weapons seem to hang on character pretty loosely as well.

Whoops, was that spare bracket me? Yeah, FF has always been like that...weapons and stuff floating everywhere, inhabited by the spirit of Rayman's no-wrists or something.
