If you do not play this game you will be missing out on one of the best PS2 games period (Same with KHII). Also, if you do not, I will destroy you through the computer. Exdeath64 18:03, November 16, 2009 (UTC)

KH is awesome. I only have Days since I don't have a PS2, but the series is almost as good as FF. (almost)

Yeah the game is awesome! One of the best games out there it's equally as good as Final fantasy!

Michelrpg Yes. You should play KH1, and then go play KH2. Keep in mind though, that both games have a rather annoying opening which lasts about 1-2 hours if you play at a normal speed. You'll have to suck up the sweetness of the games, but trust me; it gets loads better. Also, there is a timeskip of one year between KH1 and KH2, which is because Chain of Hearts serves as "KH 1,5". I never played CoH so I had to do a lot of reading about CoH since KH2 didnt make much sense to me. But anyway... KH1 and 2 are two of the best RPG's I ever played. KH1 has the better story, but KH2 has the greater battlesystem.

It is official. I'm getting it today or tomorrow. If it turns out to be bad I blame all of you. FaythOfFenrir 00:35, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

Michelrpg Just remember to endure through the opening. In both KH's, the openings are the only real annoying parts, once you get your "team" together, things will become much more fun :)

Unlike most people, I actually like it when a game has a long opening. FaythOfFenrir 02:31, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

If you have a GBA or DS, me thinks you should play Chain of Memories between KH and KHII. Clears up a lot of story, y'know? Unless you'd rather stick to the PS2, then you could get Re:CoM instead. But I still prefer the GBA version.

The order I recommend playing is
KH -> CoM/Re:CoM -> KHII -> 358/2 Days

I suggest not playing them at all because the disney characters are stupid. The gameplay is terrible, the game is directed against people only play Final Fantasy 7 and 8. It is one of the easiest games ever. You are teamed up with Goofy and Donald Duck who are complete losers. The story is atrocious and sora is a crybaby. Everything about the game is just plain boring. Even though this doesn't affect gameplay but the fans of the game are youngins and complete retards as eveidenced by this thread. Screw this game.--GrammarMan 18:12, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

It's ignorant comments like GrammarMan's that really make me sick to my stomach. The game may not appeal to your misplaced sense of what a great game entails, but that does not give you any right to put down people who do enjoy the series. Get over yourself. You came into this community with some higher sense of being and its now getting to be annoying. The only retard on this thread is you, sir. Get a life and get a friend. You sound like one of those kids whose ready to end it all. I'll pray for you, bud. 63.139.176.68 13:20, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

I agree with GrammarMan that Kingdom Hearts is easy, BUT I only think that the second one is. Some of the boss fights in KHI can be a real challenge. That doesn't stop me from recommending you playing both of them. If Disney movies were a big part of your childhood, like they were with mine, I wholeheartedly recommend the games. If they were not, then I would not play the series. If you enjoy seeing Final Fantasy characters in wonderfully strange roles (two examples: Leon/Squall working alongside with Merlin from "The Sword in the Stone", fighting a boss with Goofy and Auron), then this game will knock your socks off. However, if you hate any FF that came out after FFVI, then you will not enjoy these games. The characters from FFVII onwards dominate these games.

By all means play the games, they're really good, the mix of disney and FF is a little odd on paper, but these games pull it off.

Umm... Oops?Edit

I thought I picked up KH1 at a sidewalk sale today. When I got home, I realized that the box was for KH1. The disk inside was KH2. Oops. FaythOfFenrir 23:11, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

I played KH2 before KH1. It really doesn't matter. And KH2 is a better game. KujaRhapsodos 17:16, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

You actually got lucky, you got the more expensive one for the price of the cheaper one. Just beat KH II, sell it, then buy KHI. Easy and you should still come away with some spare cash.

You should play Kigdom hearts cuz Edit

it haz all my favrit characturs liek squall (leon) and cloud but rikku is so anoying lol but i liek yuffie dies.--CloudisAwesome 13:40, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

Okay, who let the LOL cat into the forum? I told you guys not to leave out food for them, once they get in you can't get rid of them...Exdeath64 19:12, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

You play as a guy who who teams up with a super-badass-Shield-Bashing Goofy(who's too cool for bladed weapons), and a hilariously hotheaded black mage that is Donald and get the beat the crap out of not only Disney villains but also Square designed Characters using a fancy pipe. Personally, I prefer KHI, better tone of not traking itself too seriously like subsequent games seem to be trying to do. Anonyman

Michelrpg I just love grammarman's quote, not to mention he messed up his own grammar by missing a word (which is win I think). I will agree that unless you take the sword and play on hard mode on KH1, the game will be disappoingly easy (taking the sword gives you an auto-increase in difficulty, turning hard into extremely hard). However, this game is made to mostly enjoy the gameplay, which I politely disagree with regarding grammarman's opinion. The game is fairly fun to play, and KH2 has made many improvements on the gameplay (though regarding the items they made things annoyingly difficult to get used to). Chain Reaction commands in particular made this game very fun to play. And come on, how many games do you know where you actually have to single-handedly slay a THOUSAND enemies. The only real annoyance KH2 has, the long opening aside, is the presence of the Gullwings, who are just soulely added to the game to sell merchandise. The only thing I will agree with though, is that the FF references are mostly FF7 and 8, with only minor cameo's from other characters that have virtually no storyline significance whatsoever (except Auron, who is rightfully called "the mother of all bad guys")

I really don't know why I haven't posted in this yet.

Anyways, my overview is that Kingdom Hearts is just an amazing game. True, the use of Disney characters and elements does sound really lame/cheesy/dumb, but the storyline and overall fun that this game contains brings the Disney worlds into a new light. (I mean, do you know how many fanfics there must be of Disney characters getting violent?) Even if that's still not enough for you, the main plot of the story is not focused on the Disney elements, but on entirely new devices altogether which more closely resemble something that would be in Final Fantasy. All in all, Kingdom Hearts actually isn't a children's game, as one would think due to the inclusion of Disney, as it does have some dark elements and can get very, very deep in its plotline.
