You guys are wack.--Asdf12356 13:04, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't like all of your designs -- putting it bluntly. Anyone who asks whether I can do better, I probably can: However, I've just taken two or three days (time escapes me) from the wiki and won't be doing so much editing over the next few days due to coursework. I'm not going to waste my time creating a banner. However, I will impose my preferred specifications:

  • Width: ~500px
  • Height: 150px to 175px seems about right.
  • PNG
  • Light/pale yellows or blues sound like good colours. Not because of the blues, yellows and whites the wiki uses in its design but because they just seem the best colours to use.
  • I personally think textures would work better than flat colours. White/transparency might work but meh.
  • Use official artwork, or manipulated official artworks.
  • Use the same kind of style image across the banner.
  • Limit the amount of images used.
  • My laptop/browser/internet is/are shit.

That last one is irrelevant to the banner. However, it seems to be trying to stop me from typing this message.  ILHI 16:00, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey, Yuan, when did you get back? Anyway, I stand by my idea of having a standard one that changes whenever something big is coming up, Be it a game release, or a holiday. Could be interesting, Hell, if that won't fly we can do a DC style thing where people post fan art and we vote for the "banner of the month." Exdeath64 21:45, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

I have to assume you're oblivious to the original British English way of spelling "colour" or your one of those kinda people who think that everything should be done their way (ie. US Eng), and they get ticked off when it doesn't. (referring to an edit summary and not something he wrong in the forum)  ILHI 22:05, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Actually, every few posts I have done have something like that (one time I fit half of a matchbox 20 song in, try to find it.), just checking to see if you lot even pay attention to those. After about 30 since joining the wiki, this is the first one that has been picked up. Congratulations. You have been used in a social experiment/minor joke. (And no, I don't care how people spell things on here. and before you say it, yes i have a life...) Exdeath64 01:47, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

I think you should add something like outer glow, inner shadow, bevel and embossing, or strokes... or something to make it look nicer. If you're using PhotoShop, right click on the layers with the FF images and mess around. You also want to add a few filters to the background to make it look less... well, bland.  ILHI 11:46, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't like any of them, needs more popular characters. 1stclasswarrior 15:17, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Kain, Gilgamesh, Cloud, Vivi, moogles, and chocobos are not popular anymore? I like your latest one btw Henry, and Yuan's banners look nice too.--Otherarrow 15:19, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I like all of Henry's designs. He's already uploaded one to the wiki, so unless other users want to create their own banner, should we just use his? Otherwise we might want to have a poll between several different designs. 8bit 16:08, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm definitely a fan of Henry's last design. Do it now. --BlueHighwind 16:36, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
HOLD IT! Where in the name of Kefka is Terra? Faethinverba volant 16:44, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I forsees squabbling between VI and VII people over whether Cloud or terra should be on there ;) One thing I think we can all agree on, though, is that Henry's banner, Terra/Cloud or not, is much more preferable to the current banner. Let's replace it now and upload different versions depeding on character preferences later, yes? 8bit 16:48, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Actually, I have one complaint. The title is a little obscured by Gilgamesh. If you could only move it over a bit, it would be perfect. --BlueHighwind 16:52, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Screenshots ftw! =D --Hecko X 17:05, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
AWESOMEST BANNER IN DA HOUSE. O_O - Henryacores^ 17:12, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
THAT IZ TEH AWESOMEREST. Srsly, I liek. ^_^ No, seriously, I like it. All these various characters chatting, like forums. It works.  ILHI 17:50, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Looks seriously great! *thinks of the Powerpuff Girls* (yay no more Balthier!) 118.136.71.6 a.k.a Kuzlalala Squee! 23:33, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
We should change what they say from time to time. For variety or something. Exdeath64 03:30, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
You could have made the moogles say "Kupo" at the end! Anyway, that aside, that is a a very good banner and it is a lot, lot, lot better than the previous one. Jeppo 12:55, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Gapes* I LUVZ. It uses emoticons AND a scene from Tactics Advance! XD 8bit 13:39, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
@Exdeath: No. =D Looking past the fact that it's completely fine the way it is, that changing the text whenever would be annoying for me to do, that due to copyright laws it's illegal for anyone BUT me to do it, that people would bicker whenever it was changed because not all will like the new dialogues, that there will be several pointless threads about "isn't about time we changed the dialogues", and a few other reasons I can't be bothered to write because I have a test tomorrow that I'm studying for, it's just an all-round bad idea =D --Hecko X 22:15, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Okay, okay. Bad idea, i get it. And how do YOU have it copyrighted? (If this is a mistake and i misinterpreted your posting, my bad, its almost 10:00 PM here, so i am a tad tired). Exdeath64 04:49, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Well, for one thing, I'm the "artist" who made it. Secondly, uploading to places like deviantART.com grants you copyright of your works =3 --Hecko X 08:25, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
In many countries, copyright applies as soon as the work has been created. Unless Hecko gives express permission or releases it under a different licence, it's under copyright. 58.110.32.38 10:05, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
What s/he said =3 Anywho, Ex, you are completely free to make one from scratch, you just aren't allowed to make a derivative work of the thing I made. --Hecko X 10:55, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, how of much of this is Hecko's? Looks like it belongs to Square Enix, only with some word bubbles covering it. --BlueHighwind 12:10, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Backround is copyrighted by Square Enix, but as I am not using it for profit purposes and because I give them the credit they require for use of their product, I have, as far as I know, not broken any copyright laws. The rest was (obviously) done by me, but the finished product, as a whole, is by law considered mine only. --Hecko X 12:20, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
