Crazyswordsman - Final Fantasy VI, because Drake says he wants to link to FF7 every day, which is bad because that game is so far inferior to FF6. TALK - 03:08, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
I made a mistake. I should've told you I was going away for two weeks.
Welcome bakc CSM! Alot has changed since you went away. The FFIV enemies template has been modified thanks to AJDurai. Kana, J2e, and Bestiary # have been added to it. They have been moved from SNES name to GBA names, thanks to me and AJ. I am currently fixing all the pages; adding Kana, Bestiary #, Stats etc. Yumino, ILHI and Yuan have been gnoming away, fixing links and redirects, FFVI enemy pages have been moved to updated names. How was your "vacation"?
Whew! I thought you were gone for good for a while! Have a good time?
Welcome back CSM. You missed a bit. Golbez is gonna by July's featured article, I gave his and Kefka's pages a kick ass overhaul, and the EndGame-type user of '08 has made his debut.
Also I had a sex change, but didn't like it and decided to change back.

Thanks guys. And I'm pretty over this name thing so long as:
| |||
I made sure, when I was fixing the redirects and links for the FFIV enemies that I didn't touch your walkthrough. It is from the SNES version, right?
|
Welcome back CSM! I hope you had a good time.
End Game, MRR and Griffen have left for good. Nelo, Pablo, MMIL and Blue are on wikibreak (latter two are comming back soon). Oh, and a team of people including Adam, Yumino, ILHI and I managed to get to the bottom of the disambig page.
Huh, so that's where you've been for so long. Well, at least things haven't been boring since you left. We all found a new least favorite User. End Game left, and in a bizare twist turned out to be a lesbian rather than the fatass Ignatius-type that I imagined her to be. I got angry one night and yelled at MRR for being an unfunny idiot who was wasting our time with nonsense. Then he -finally- left. Though, perhaps I should have held my temper. Nah, I never liked that guy anyway. Oh, and there's a lot of talk of finally promoting a few more Moderators, since we've gone two months and might just miss the quota. PS: This is the funniest shit I've ever heard:
Quote: "You don't touch my walkthroughs"
Is scared '_'
Nah, I have "touched" your walkthroughs; but the content is exactly the same (unless I accidentally did something wrong; but I tried not to). I was changing redirects, so for example, on your walkthrough, it says "[[Belmodar|Rhinotaur]]", so in the article it appears the same, but links to the correct page. (Redirects are there for searching purposes and using them in articles should be refrained from) ILHI 16:09, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Nobody mentioned there was yet another skirmish between Aeris and Aerith and that most users that gave some sort of damn wanted her to be Aerith. Welcome back, CSM! I hope whatever you were doing turned out just fine.
Good to see you back Crazyswords! Now if only we could find MMIL...
Haven't seen you for awhile...I haven't been here much either but I'll be needing some more assistance in another wiki (check the Waystone for more info...)
CSM left? I never noticed that. BTW, I am also back again :)

Perhaps you didn't notice his absence because you also were gone? Welcome back to both admins. I hope MMIL's still out there somewhere. Maybe English exams have taken her hostage or something.

Meh. I need to get a new mic so we can start up IaV again. And about the whole Aeris thing, she's Aeris, and she's not anything else (although a turd by any other name smells just as stank). But if you people insist on shutting us old-thymers out, then so be it.
I will fight against "Aerith" until death! NEVER!!!

I say we should wait for a possible future remake of FFVII. Until then, I'd stay that the Aeris\th case should stay as it is. As for our wiki CSM, we have a new definition of WikiDragon. Welcome back! {{Grin}}

This is a democracy. I have to give in. The only thing I can do is join BH in complaining that I don't like the decision.
Democracy can go screw itself. Until FFVII gets remade, my system stays in place. Who elected me? Nobody. But information cannot be ignored.
I got my first test template for "Aerithing" all pertinent pages. Me and Blykus go test templates, as a matter of fact. It's clear that most users want Aeris to be Aerith. Is it okay if Blykus and I fix it?
Popular opinion is the last resort of one without an argument. No it is not okay. I will personally revert all changes that do not make sense.
One without an argu... have you read fucking ANYTHING we talked about in the discussion? Your position is this: let's keep Aeris because there's no remake. When we pointed out the fact that every prequel, sequel and spin-off that includes her calls her "Aerith" your position turns into this: all right, let's call her Aerith in those games but let's call her Aeris in FFVII because there's no remake. When we point out that that would be inconsistent (and therefore false), you say: We must remain inconsistent. And you say that I am without an argument?
Are the games not inconsistent? Don't we represent them? How can be misrepresent the games just because we want something to be a certain way? I would rather not have a Cait Sith, yet he's still here because despite how we wants things to be perfect. They just aren't.
Henryacores - "É que esta noite vou lançar ao mar/A bruma que houver em mim./Vou beber e cantar este luar/vou dançar até ao fim." TALK - 23:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Popular opinion may be the last resort of one without an argument to use, but it's also the strongest. It's even stronger if CSM says that we should follow the community's consent. Do not try to push reason to your side on this matter BH, as it is clear that you cannot. Personal preference is the weakest argument someone can use.
I never said anything about personal preference. Where did that come from? If it were up to me, it would all be "Eris". But I didn't make the games, so its not up to me. How is popular opinion the strongest argument? What people think changes nothing about the truth. Evidence from the games are the strongest argument, and the games seem to back up my temporary system.
Edit conflict yo All right:
Chronologically, yes. They are consistent. They're the same universe, the same reality. CC happens before FFVII and FFVII happens before AC and DoC.
I don't know what you mean by that.
Let's make this perfectly clear: we want it to be "Aerith" because the sources say she's "Aerith" and not the other way round.
| |||
"This guy are sick" is cannon. Weirdly enough. They have to keep that phrase in the remake. I never said the game was perfectly translated, I said "that's the way the game is". We can't change it just because we don't like it. Just like Cait Sith.
Nobody said "This guy are sick" isn't canon. But it's wrong anyway. Stupidly wrong if may say. And you KNOW they will fix it in the remake. If you insist on the contrary, because you really think it's correct to keep "This guy are sick", I won't reply anymore. And it won't be because you will have convinced me.
I say keep it because its funny as Hell! It gets me everytime. Everytime. Even after ten years, its sill funny! You want to remove the best bit of Engrish of all time? Blasphemy!! =) Wait for the remake before you make changes around the remake. Since there is no remake, we can't assume that things will change in it.

Well, I think her name should be Dumbass, but that's never gonna happen.
Well hello! I'm back from Wikibreak ^_^
Welcome back too Pablo! Everyone is ignoring you, so I thought I'd say it again :P
@CSM - I'm agreeing to disagree with you on Aeris, so I'm not going to say a word on that.
@Faethin and BH - they kept "You spoony bard". Who's too say they won't keep "this guy are sick"? It depends, really. Aeris was a mistranslation, but it's one many fans have accepted and prefer over the true translation. If there is a remake, maybe they'll keep it as Aeris, maybe not, we can't say. They changed Tina's name to Terra in the original release of VI, and kept it the same in the remakes because this is the name fans know. No one else had their name changed during translation, but Terra had hers and this was kept. Just a few points to keep in mind. Mistranslations are not all automatically corrected in the remakes, some are kept as a nod to the fanbase. And maybe Aeris will be one of those if they remake VII, maybe not.
@Yuan and Pablo: Yuan, nobody ignored Pablo, they just haven't notice, so I'd say that's really mean to assume something not definite! Pablo, welcome back ^_^ and may you edit well! And since when is this a debate on Aeris/Aerith? Start a thread for it or continue an existing one.
Damn, joke backfired on me again -_-;. I was just kidding Blue. You know I wouldn't mean something like that.
EDIT: Forgot to say that I'm sorry if I offended. I think you're IRC is broken though, Blue. You haven't replied to my queries/apologies.
Azul is back![]
Hello FFWiki (you guys). Due to the 100+ degree weather (F*), strong winds the day after, and my backyard catching on fire (?_?) my vacation was cut short :( I was only gone for 3 days but alot can happen here in 3 days. Did I miss anything?
Wow, some pretty weirds things happened to you O_O nothing has happened here really
Yuan is back[]
Hello everyone, I'm back from my holiday in Cairns. What did I miss?
And the Yellow Ranger returns. How was the reef?
yuan is going to hit you xD Welcome back yunnie!
Welcome back :) Now let me just go click on Hide minor edits.
Welcome back Yuan! The IRC hasn't been the same :) You haven't really missed anything, well, not that I know of.
Thanks everyone! I've been missing you guys.
@Blue: Hexed tells me the RC hardly moved XD @Pablo: No, I just get to call him "Nethy-Rethy" instead :P
Back in Black Blue[]
Just teleported in from Wildwood. Anything interesting happen while I was gone?

Griffen is back, a whole new "clan" thing has sprung up. They only have two clans now, maybe you should make one Blue :P
The pub, which happens to be one of the best ideas to date. People assign "missions", and they do it for "gil". So people just dump FFWIKI work they can't be arsed to do onto participants. ^_^ ILHI 09:27, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Welcome back Blue! The Pub seems set to make the To-Do List redundant. Good or bad? :P
There are still some jobs I wouldn't trust giving to them. ^_^ And there are so many things "On-Hold", whereas all these people do it ASAP. I don't know what the gil is for, whether it's a point system or they get something, but it makes them do it.
So for now, just give them the jobs you cannot do, and yet no one else is doing. The To-Do list is for big projects, whereas I just assign them small ones. I'd still use the To-Do List for those jobs you cannot just let any member try and do. Such as "Modify the Final Fantasy IV Monster Template to reflect the differences in monster stats between versions ", "Organise Wiki-Wide Fanfic similar in style to the Canterbury Tales ", "Organize a chibi fanart gallery regarding the characters from the Final Fantasy series ", "Finish the Markup pages". These are things you wouldn't want clueless people interfering with. ILHI 09:43, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't care how it works, just as long as things get done right. As for me, I run around making random edits to anything I see that's wrong or missing in the Main Space. I have no plan. PS: FFXI Wiki already has a point system thingy. [1] You get 2,000 points for joining, and 50 points for making a Main Space Edit (though I think that's a little unfair, as Image and Template edits can be just as constructive) and there are levels you get as you go up. Currently I have about 191,500 points, which means I'm at "Tough".
