Do You Think Aerith Deserved To Die?

I've watched that really depressing scene in FFVII where Aerith dies. It made me cry at night for a week, and I think that she didn't deserve to die like that. Do you have anything against Aerith? (Don't say yes)Zackfair5555 21:19, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. ILHI 21:22, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
Zackfair5555 15:32, September 24, 2009 (UTC) Goddammit! I said don't say yes!!
Fuck yeah!!!! Aerith is a fucking slut. Sephiroth66 00:36, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
Damn, you LH, you are a bastard. :(
But seriously: No, she did not deserve to die. However, her death, her sacrifice was necessary to advance the story. It also gave a realistic flavor to the story.

The FMV is laughable. And Aeris isn't that great, because you knew you wouldn't have her for long.
I laughed at the FMV.
I did. ILHI 21:30, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
Come on, man. You're cold.Zackfair5555 15:24, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
I agreed, before I played VI and know Terra. Aerith was my favorite female character and I was sad to find out she dies. Her and Cloud could been a perfect couple. I also believe Zack doesn't deserve to die ether, but I am a person that love death scene. And let just ignore ILHI, he just a cold hearted person.

I just don't care about characters in games.
And even then, films! I still feel empotions when watching films.
But not Aeris in VII. Tellah's death was more epic. It would be more epic if you could tell he was dead though. 2D games don't work very well.
But also, not knowing what happens also adds to the emotion. Back in 1997, no emotion. Maybe that was my problem. I thought nothing of it when I was four or five, and so it's nothing new now. I also knew what happened.
Never will that FMV get to me. And never will an FF death get to me. ILHI 22:01, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
Michelrpg Deserved? no. Needed? Well... yeah. She would have died when Meteor hit anyway. As for the FMV itself... I didnt find it very emotional either. The song that plays at the background however, MADE the scene emotional. I am curious though; how exactly is Barret a racist stereotype?
I don't believe she deserved to die. She was a rather well done character, and you did feel genuinely sorry for her when her time came. I do however, give you lot that she did need to die to move on the storyline. Exdeath64 03:11, September 19, 2009 (UTC)

As the only characters in VII that I care for are Tifa and Cid, no, her death didn't affect me really. Did she deserve it? Well, if I replaced her in my party with Cait Sith... >.>
| |||
I honestly didn't care that much when she died. The way that I saw her portrayed at the beginning of FF7 didn't make her that interesting to me. I knew that Cloud and Tifa were the real love interest. The way she was shown with more personality and such in Crisis Core did make me a little more sorry, but not much.

I found aeris/aerith to be a useless character, so i wasn't really sad when she died

...I henceforth propose that we keep TZ as far away from any weapons, (or anything that can be creatively used as a weapon) as is actually possible...Exdeath64 23:24, September 20, 2009 (UTC)
With enough imagination, that's actually pretty hard to accomplish. But don't worry. Sephiroth can't part with his signature piece of sharp metal. I checked.
| |||
And he won't need to. Considering the meaning of TZ's name, he already has got one, black razor with him.

Too much seriousness kills wikis...and I just have to say that despite the fact it looks pretty bad-ass. Swinging a giant cleaver (without a hilt, I may add, you think slamming it into steel skinned monsters would break your hand) around is not really a good weapon. And Aerith will never truly die so long as fans keep cooking up patches to stick her back in the game, or as long as she keeps on popping up as a ghost-lifstream thing in the sequels, no matter how little sense it makes (dead people should STAY dead, there is a reason you can't buy the necrocromicon at borders...and yes, I checked to see if they had it...). Exdeath64 23:13, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
Michelrpg Lol, the necronomicon you mean? the Grimoire of the dead? That stuff is fake dude, made up so emo's and goths have something to talk about that's related to death. You surprised me Exdeath, I had given you much more credit than that...
I have absolutely no idea where the topic has drifted to, but I gotta say, it's a paradoxal answer that I'm gonna say: Yes, she deserves to die, since she made a wuss out of Cloud... because she got killed. See what I mean?
Yea, go ahead and kill/sue/curse my soul in eternal damnation of hell, you fanboys/girls.

Michelrpg, I was JOKING! I am fully aware that necromancy is not real, {and if it where real, I am the LAST person who should be anywhere near it.) I was just messing around with you people, its what I do. (though I did see if they had a "copy" around last Halloween, figured it would make for a hell of a prank with my younger siblings {I forget the specifics, something about that book, and a spring loaded coffin}, suffice to say, they did not.) Back to the topic at hand, "Do you think Aeris deserved to die?" Yes! She stole Sephiroth's Klondike Bar! (What, you thought Sephiroth went and used Meteor and did all that plot-element stuff because of the plot? No, someone just got stupid enough to ask Sephiroth what he'd do for a Klondike Bar.)
I had two forums deleted for saying that Aerith is a slut!! That's how much I believe that she is a whore!Sephiroth66 04:56, October 10, 2009 (UTC)

Yes, by the end they wanted you to LOATHE Sephiroth, and I doubt he'd be as popular WITHOUT this dick move. (P.S. why they made Aerith the only white mage only to kill her off I'll never know, she had the only healing Limit Breaks)
| |||
Michelrpg I liked his overall design though. Him killing Aeris was just a bonus. Also, I never considered anyone in FF7 to have the classic job/classes. I categorised Barret, Cloud, Yuffie, Vincent, Red, and Cid as "Fighters". I called Aeris "cheap way to get early beta", I call Cait Sith "abomination", and I call Tifa "Jenna with black hair".
@Blackheart1991: uh...no, actually, Aeris was not the only one with healing Limits. Yuffie has one too, Clear Tranquil. I'm not going to argue the point about Aeris being a white mage, since it's correct. The.DreadnoughT 21:51, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Michelrpg Its not that I dont think she's a white mage. I just think there's no point in categorising any of the FF7 characters into classes due to the materia. Give someone Cure-all and they're a white mage. Give someone enemy skill + Big Guard/Beta/White Wind, and they're a red mage. Give anyone Ultima/Contain materia, and they're a black mage. At most, and even that's going far, you have physical fighters and spellcasters. But even that can be ignored after a while since physical attacks will surpass most offensive materia anyway.
It's not due to the materia. It's due to the Limit Breaks.

I don't see why Aeris would deserve to die? O.o
Michelrpg She was totally asking for it. Look at what she's wearing! She's wearing pink!
She was cloud's love interest (as proved by him seeing her multiple times throughout AC), here's my analogy for sephiroth, he has a few diamond encrusted skulls (He killed Zack and Aeris), whereas every other villain only has a mountain of skulls (countless unimportant NPCs).
| |||
Michelrpg He doesn't love her. He feels guilty about being unable to prevent sephiroth from slaughtering her in front of his eyes. There's nothing more to it.
Meh I felt really weird but more recently Baten Kaitos made me almost shed a tear. BTW, He may not have a "mountain" of skulls he still killed the president and everybody who worked there plus a midgar snake.--GrammarMan 13:12, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
