The Focalor is an ichthon/piranha-type enemy from Final Fantasy XII. It can be found in the Sochen Cave Palace and the Nabreus Deadlands. It is also one of the few, if not the only, docile creatures in the Nabreus Deadlands.

"Being a flesh-eating ichthian, easily identified by its brown-striped hide. The fish-fiend's jaws gape open like a crescent moon, revealing row upon row of razor-sharp, wedge-shaped teeth. Its scales are made of a metallic substance, and are extremely hard. Known for its aggressive nature, and sensitivity to the scent of blood."

EtymologyEdit

In demonology, Focalor is said to be the name of a demon with power of wind and sea. It also shares its name with the Fastitocalon from Final Fantasy VIII in Japanese, though as with the Archaeosaur, in the English translations the connection is not apparent.
