Even dog lovers have to admit it feels good to cast an ice spell on these things.
Flamehound (フレイムドッグ, Fureimu Doggu?, lit. Flame Dog), also known as FlameDog, Flame Beast, and Fiery Hound, is a recurring enemy in the series, debuting in Final Fantasy IV. They are beasts made of fire, attacking with their signature ability Scorch or Flame, and are always vulnerable to Ice-elemental attacks.
Flamehound is an enemy fought at Tower of Zot as a Monster-in-a-box, then later in random encounters at Tower of Babil and on the overworld near Agart. It is a powerful foe, attacking with the powerful Scorch ability on the entire party frequently.
Flamehound is an enemy fought outside Baron in Kain's Tale, the Lair of the Father during the Lunarians tale, and in the Challenge Dungeons for Rydia, Yang, and Porom, in addition to being fought at the very start of the game with Ceodore and as a scripted battle in Edge's Tale when Izayoi rejoins the party at the Tower of Bbail. They are the same as before.
Flamehound is a similarly named enemy, but is named differently in the Japanese version.
