Balthier Fires of War

Fires of War in Final Fantasy XII.

Fires of War (略奪のコンパス, Ryakudatsu no Konpasu?, lit. Compass of Plunder) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is Balthier's trademark Quickening, first appearing as his level 1 Quickening in Final Fantasy XII.

Appearances Edit

Final Fantasy XII Edit

XII Fires of War is Balthier's level 1 Quickening. As with all level 1 Quickenings, it deals damage equal to a random number between 1 and 90 multiplied by Balthier's Strength, and costs one Mist Charge to execute.

Final Fantasy Tactics S Edit

TS Fires of War is Balthier's Special Ability.

ATB Fires of War is the ability that is used by Balthier during battle.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Edit

FFRK Fires of War is Balthier's initial Soul Break, and it deals physical damage to all enemies. It can be changed to Tides of Fate if the weapon Ras Algethi is equipped.

Final Fantasy Trading Card Game Edit

TCG Balthier's card depicting his promotional poster with Fran can use Fires of War. For the discard of another Balthier card and one Wind CP, Balthier can't be chosen as the target of the opponent's effects and gains Pre-emptive Strike until the end of turn.
