Here's where you can nominate and vote on articles to be featured on the front page.

  • To nominate, simply write your nomination under the Nominees section and sign your posts. A nomination is equal to a vote, and it's one nomination per person.
  • To vote, simply sign with # ~~~~ under the nominees to symbolize your support. You can vote for as much as two nominees at a time. You can always change it at anytime, until the selection date.
  • Once a nominee is selected, we'll clear the nominees section to start a clear slate. You can nominate the same article again one month later. We call it a transition period.
  • You can give your Comments in the section below, but any claims of supporting a nominee does not count until you sign under the Nominees section. Take care!
  • Diablocon has the final say in things: he's in charge of the featured articles. Uweeheehee.

Diablocon - No, the question is; who art thou, ham planks? Shanks! I meant shanks:
TALK - 11:46, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
READ THIS! OR ELSE! AND I MEAN ALL OF IT! I AM FED UP OF EVERYONE ASKING QUESTIONS THAT I ANSWER HERE!

Hey kids, do you like rules? If so, then you're going to love these new rules I have for you!

  1. You may only begin voting when there are at least 5 nominations up! This rule is here because without fail the first nominess is usually the winner. Let's actually put some competition into it. I might lower the number, but we usually get more than 5 nominees anyway.
  2. Whenever an article from a game is featured, it is striked off the list, meaning articles from that game can no longer be featured this year. Harsh? Maybe, but I don't like the fact we've had two IV, VII and VIII articles this year! Here's the list:
  • I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII
  • FFIVA, FFX-2, FFXII:RW, FFT, FFTA, FFTA2, FFCC, FFCC:RoF, FFCC:MLaK

Is your game striken out? Then tough, you can't nominate articles from that game. What about spin-offs? Anything from the comp of FFVII counts towards FFVII, since they don't feature enough unique elements to make them different. Also, allowing them would allow the loophole of letting people constantlt vote for FFVII things.

FFT and FFT:WotL are one and the same also. I could also list the Chocobo series games, but for one, no one ever nominates them anyway ( :( ), and two they are basically an amalgamation of every FF game, so anything from those games would be good.

No FFXIII or Dissidia things yet either. Should go without saying, but none of those articles have enough meat yet.

If an article is of a recurring element, like an enemy or summon, it is exempt from this rule.

Also, NO CHARACTER ARTICLES STILL!

  • Q: What the eff Dcon! Gunblade won last month!
  • A: It also broke the rules as I found out when adding the new ones:

You can nominate the same article again one month later. We call it a transition period.

It couldn't have been nominated again, so the runnner up got first place instead.

  • Q: That's bull! You're just spiteing FFVIII!
  • A: Yup.

But on a more serious note, FFVIII has had FAs before, one this year as well. Can you name me an FFXI one? Thought so. Let FFXI have its time in the sun.

  • Q: Then the rules should be more visible!
  • A: I've learned recently that no one reads the rules, regardless of how obvious they are. Heck, I missed that rule, but that was mostly because it wasn't really making itself known. I will restructure thbe rules for the FA soon.

[edit] November '08 Nominess

  • Bomb - Next month has Guy Fawkes day (or however you spell it). We need something that makes a bang! I go with the summon, but in your votes, you might want to say if we should go with the enemy one. Diablocon 11:46, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Final Fantasy V - FFV's game article is fairly sturdy and it deserves an FA. Hexed 12:05, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Airship - One of the major staples in the lexicon of Final Fantasy. Lockhart
  • Gunblade - good article, appears in VII and VIII and is going to be in XIII which makes it recurring. Andrew22k 15:59, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Kefka Palazzo - the K-man's day on the Main Page is long overdue, and November is the best month for it: Kefka's birthday is November 19. Let's give the psycho clown the recognition he deserves at last. Drake Clawfang
  1. No doubt. BlueHighwind 19:48, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
  2. This is a no-brainer. --ChiefKakashi 19:49, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
  3. Since it has been accepted with an exception... Uwee-hee-hee! 8bit 22:00, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
  4. Pablo618: Yeah, whatever
  5. Careful everyone, if this gets too many votes, another article might be featured instead.  :P --Gamer2127
  6. Excellent article, Drake did a great job with his overhaul. -- YuanSaluto!Acta 03:11, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
  7. Fine article. Surprised it wasn't featured already though.--Otherarrow 11:15, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
  8. Henryacores^ 12:43, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
  9. I love the whole concept of Kefka getting a featured status on the month of his birthday. Besdies, it is one of the better ones we have.--Azul-Kharlan 23:35, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
  1. Squallinoa FFVI is better than FFVII!

[edit] Comments

Does Kefka count as a character article? 8bit 21:51, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, but I put in a special request for Diablo, to make an exception, and he agreed. Drake Clawfang
I hope the "special request" didn't just open up a can of worms... 8bit 22:00, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, I had good reasons for it: November is Kefka's birthday month, and VI hasn't had a featured article all year. Besides, Kefka is long overdue. Drake Clawfang

I wish I can nominate Rinoa but I can't cuz no character aricles. That and no one will support her. Squallinoa 08 04:09, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

So let me get this straight: if I have a character I like a lot, I can't nominate it and I'll catch hell for it, but if it's someone everyone LOVES TO DEATH, you get an exception? BS. Complete BS. Apparently, popularity contests transcend even rules as long as you're on the good side of whoever runs the thing and it's someone that already gets plenty of attention to where they don't actually need to be a Featured Article since making it such is just restating the obvious: that everyone loves it, and there's no respect for things NOT popular since if they're not popular, they have to adhere to the rules or it's out. See where I'm going with this? Why should I follow the rules if it's apparent that what I like most is blacklisted solely because it's not to the mod's/admin's liking? That's like telling me not to steal then letting your best friend get away with robbing a bank, then expecting to "understand" and not try to take a few bucks from a cash register when nobody's looking. And that November is Kefka's birthday month is NO excuse to me; you can wait until next year. PaladinCecil 21:15, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Did you fully read the rules? There's nothing that says Kefka can't be featured. --ChiefKakashi 21:20, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
My friend, you should go to a psicologist or take some pills for stress - Henryacores^ 21:22, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Bitch bitch bitch. I asked for an exception, I was granted it. So shut the hell up. If you want to nominate something thats banned, talk to Diablo, don't waste our timing whining. You nommed Rosa last month, Diablo let you get away with it, so stop complaining. I got over the Gunblade and you'll get over Rosa. If it really bugs you than take it up with Daiblo like I did. Drake Clawfang
PS - just to make sure everyone understands, this is about me telling him that Rosa wasn't allowed last month because Diablo said no character articles. Take your petty grudges elsewhere. Drake Clawfang
The rules say NO CHARACTER ARTICLES. Re-read them. It says right there. If Kefka's on, it's Diablo bending the rules purely because the person asking him is on his good side and he has a personal interest in Kefka. Otherwise, he'd just write it off as unimportant. Insults aside, Henryacores, my point remains valid. I already know my favorite character will never get featured, both because nobody respects that character enough and because of how I've been, but I'd like to at least show that I think she deserves better than she gets, and this incident just proves the bias inherent in the rules themselves. And I'm thankful Diablo let me get away with it, and the only reason I re-added it was because nobody took Rinoa off the list. If you notice, he took it off, I respected him taking Rosa off after he did, understood, and left it completely alone until other people got away with it. This is about fairness. I shouldn't have posted it last time, I admit that. It was UNfair to expect to get through when other character articles didn't. BUT: I'm only a member. That doesn't make this case exempt from the issue. My adding it on against the rules is entirely different from the mod saying "screw all of you who have or will follow my rules, I like this guy's jibe so I'll let him slide." I'm not expected to uphold an implied moral code, and if I breach it too much and too often, I am expected to be banned (and I would've understood if I was). Mods are kept to a higher standard. PaladinCecil 21:33, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Actually, you know what? If it'll get the mod to stick to his word and actually keep character articles off the list, ban me. Please. I'd be more than happy to have that to make up for my breaking the rules last time if it'll get Diablo to stick to his own code. PaladinCecil 21:35, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Dear god, grow the hell up! No one is getting banned for this, no matter how annoying and whiny they act! It is not your place to make assumptions of why Diablo allowed Kefka to be nominated, it is not anyone's place to say why he did that, but his. And again, you can always ask him to let you nominate Rosa. Or you can stay here and bitch about it. The thing is, IV has had two FA's this year - Kain and Golbez, while VI has had none, and as I explained to Diablo, I'd been waiting for November to nominate him back during the summer when I did the initial restructuring of the page. So grow up, shut up, and if it really bothers you talk to Diablo. Either way, quit bitching. Drake Clawfang
Okay, let me correct my last statement: There is a rule that says Kefka shouldn't be featured...Under normal circumstances anyway. Also, look here. Diablo's had time to think on it. --ChiefKakashi 21:42, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
I believe we've already coverd many many times how the Featured Articles are corrupt to shit, so there's not reason to complain anymore. At this point I'm just riding the ebs and flows and enjoying the ride. You should too. --BlueHighwind 21:54, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
\(^_^)/ Life isn't fair, and it's just a website, so be happy \(^_^)/ 8bit 22:55, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
After looking at both the link of when it was requested as a feature AND checking what the rules were back when that was first posted... I'll concede it. The impression I got from both his appearance on the list and nothing offered for explanation like the link eventually given was "**** that character, I don't like her so she has to stay off the list and follow my rules... oh Kefka? he's awesome, by all means, break the rules that everyone who has a character nobody likes has to adhere to." It's not hypocritical if it was planned well in advance of the rules actually being set up. PaladinCecil 00:55, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
