Different breeds of Chocobos in Final Fantasy XI. Like in many Final Fantasy games, these signature creatures can be used as mounts by players, being much faster than travel by foot. Chocobos can be rented for a fee from stables after acquiring a Chocobo Licence from a side-quest. Beginning with the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion, Chocobos can be raised by players themselves, and bred for different qualities. They can also take part in minigames such as Chocobo Racing and Chocobo Hot and Cold.
