GuidelinesEdit

  • Please do not use talk templates here, as it really slows down the loading times.
  • Check the list below as well as this list for dups before suggesting a new one. Hint: Use the "find" feature (Ctrl+F) to quickly search for names.
  • Only fights between Final Fantasy characters are allowed. Other media like Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario RPG, 8-Bit Theater and Chrono Trigger will not be allowed to compete.
  • Please include "Support", "Reject" and "Comments" subheadings when you add your suggestion, as other users are getting rather fed up with putting them in for you
  • If you do not vote in the suggested manner, your vote will not be counted. You must include "#~~~~" in your vote. Vote lengths are not strictly enforced, but use common sense. Walls of text are best placed in the comments section.
  • The DNC is run by committee. If you have any questions regarding DNC rules, please contact one of the following people: Deadlyslashsword, ScatheMote, and Jimcloud. TacticAngel will also help in areas of policy or if somehow all other members of the committee are unavailable.

How to Suggest a FightEdit

Any registered user can suggest a fight. Fights should be added to the bottom of the page. They must be signed and they must be dated. Fights may be removed anytime, depending on whether or not they are acceptable. As a general rule, do not suggest 'Final Fantasy A vs Final Fantasy B' or any character versus a real or fictional character from outside the Final Fantasy universe. Below is a sample of code that should make creating suggestions easier.

The following fights have received high support from the community and may be considered for future fights.

  • Griever v. Silver Dragon
  • Bahamut SIN v. Sin
  • Sabin v. Zell
  • Golbez v. Jecht
  • Rin v. O'aka XXIII
  • Sin v. Ragnarok
  • Locke v. Vaan
  • Edgar v. Edward

  • Lani v. Ba'Gamnan
  • Vincent v. Squall
  • Paine v. Noel
  • Sabin v. Snow
  • Quina v. Gogo

Desch v. Cid PollendinaEdit

Rationale: After 'sacrificing' themselves to save everyone, they couldn't be kept down. Neither seem to be able to die. Who will win in a battle of the immortals?

Sage v. NinjaEdit

Rationale: They're the two strongest classes in Final Fantasy 3. Yeah, they kinda got nerfed in future games, but they're still two of the most versatile and powerful job classes in the series. Which is the superior job in Final Fantasy?

Sabin Rene Figaro v. Snow VilliersEdit

Rationale: Blonde, brash, and muscle-bound, these two monks are similar in appearance, but fight with styles as different as yin and yang. Bum Rush vs. Steelguard. Fire Dance vs. Mediguard. Black Belt vs. Counter. Dual wielded claws versus a technology enhanced coat. Who will win: the irresistible force or the immovable object?

Terra (Letting Down Hair) vs. Garnet (Cutting Hair)Edit

Rationale: This Match-up isn't about which character is better but instead which had the more dramatic Hair Sequence. Is it Terra letting her hair fly in the wind at the end of FFVI or Garnet cutting her hair off about 2/3 the way through FFIX?

This isn't meant to be a serious battle but I thought it might be a funny one for April Fool's coming up. --Ffgamesftw (talk) 00:05, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

That scene with Terra doesn't signify something important like the scene with Garnet though? - +DeadlySlashSword+ 03:47, March 13, 2013 (UTC)
Seemed kind of significant to me. Kefka's dead, FREEDOM! (Cat + meow)(RC + Sbox) = FFW 04:01, March 13, 2013 (UTC)
The scene, yes. The hair, not so much. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 05:14, March 13, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think either character it was the hair that mattered so much. Garnet is about how she is done blaming herself for everything while Terra's is about how such a large weight has finally been lifted from her as she is now fully human and doesn't have to worry about being used for her magic again. --Ffgamesftw (talk) 23:52, March 13, 2013 (UTC)
But what happens when Terra loses what seems to be her only connection to the Returners (her magic)? Do they truly love her for who she is, power notwithstanding? Or when all is said and done, are the orphans in Mobliz the only ones who love Terra anymore? Since we never get to know the truth either way, I'm awful worried about how FFVI canon would treat her after the loss of her magic. EdgarXTerra4ever 19:09, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
If this fight isn't about the hair and is rather about the feeling of freedom after a weight has been lifted off their shoulders, than this fight could be about almost any protagonist character at the end of the game, really. My suggestion would be to resubmit the fight as Terra v. Garnet and use the hair thing as part of your rationale, because people would treat this fight as as one between the characters and not the scenes anyways. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 21:18, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
You seem to misunderstand me. I still want the fight to be about the scenes as which as a better scene. I was just explaining that there is more to the scene then the hair it was simply that both scenes decided to use the characters hair as a focal point to more emphasize a dramatic moment. As far as EdgarXTerra by the end of the game they all had magic abillities so they technically all lost the abillity to use magic (granted Terra more then others) I mean think of it this way Setzer didn't just go "oh look her magic is fading I will let her fall to her death" --Ffgamesftw (talk) 04:13, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
Terra's hair still doesn't play as significant a role as Garnet's hair, and people would still likely treat it as Terra v. Garnet. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 04:24, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah you might be right I figured it would be an interesting match-up and something different. I personally couldn't decide which scene I preffered so thought it seemed even. Also I think plain old Terra v. Garnet has already been done and was hoping people vote on the merit of the scene not of the characters --Ffgamesftw (talk) 04:33, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
It hasn't been done before, which is why I suggested resubmitting it as a regular fight. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 06:30, March 22, 2013 (UTC)

Red XIII v. TidusEdit

Rationale: These characters share an initial hate for their respective fathers. But then, when they discovered the reason of their dads's actions, both of these characters managed to forgive them. Tidus and Red XIII share also a very little screen-time in the sequel of their respective games (FFVII DoC and FFX-2).

Genesis Rhapsodos v. Amarant CoralEdit

  1. Red hair is not enough, although it's quite rare for the series, and I'd say Genesis's hair are more of light auburn than red. They have little to no similarities as well.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 21:28, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

Galuf Halm Baldesion v. Kain HighwindEdit

  1. Even though I like FFXIII Serah with having less love for FFXIII-2 Serah, and little emotion for Ellone, I'll say no. Sure, the gunbladers want to protect them, and they have some special powers, but Serah can't really fight on equal rights with Ellone.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 21:31, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

Aerith Gainsborough v. Serah FarronEdit

Rationale: These two tender, young women care for the world, yet both have different ways of protecting it: the last of her race, Aeris, prays for a sacred light that would repel the desctructive spell, while the one blessed with eyes of Etro, Serah, would fight a man whose wish is to destroy the timeline. Both have a thing to wear pink (I know Serah wears pink in FFXII-2) and die for world's future: Aeris backstabbed by Sephiroth, and Serah because of seeing a different future through her gift (yet she was backstabbed/impaled by Caius, the same level of antagonism as Sephy). Despite their deaths, the worlds seem to be saved (LR:FFXIII has Nova Chrysalia which is merger between Gran Pulse and Valhalla so the world kinda lives on). (I kinda doubt that it will get support, but SE did kinda make Serah all 'Aerisy' in FFXIII-2.)

Suggester: Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP)

Not to sound annoying but you should really make your rationale shorter. --Ffgamesftw (talk) 22:02, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
