To answer a question from the last fight's Peanut Gallery - no, TA runs the DNC. But he deputized me this weeek to change it since he's having PC troubles. Doreiku Kuroofangu 15:42, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

Methinks the Shanttoto haters doth protest too much. She's an awesome Little Miss Snarker. Search your feelings, you know it to be true. Doreiku Kuroofangu 19:11, April 27, 2010 (UTC) Whaaaat? No Sazh vs Barret? Aww man... SilverCrono 19:12, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
Wow... It'll take time for me to decide who to vote for. Shantotto is an awesome wee and very small extremely powerful tiny magician. Montblanc is a moogle. -_- Life is cruel... KujaRhapsodos 19:20, April 27, 2010 (UTC) You see, what's good about these two is that if they get too annoying they can be easily drop kicked (my sister classifies such things, along with my brothers Pomeranian as "Puntable") Exdeath64 20:12, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
Woow landslide much already??? Mabye Shanttoto's supporters aren't here yet?? :P FinalFantasyAerith 20:43, April 27, 2010 (UTC) Can anyone explain the led zeppelin lyrics in Shantotto's column? is she a fan of that band in FFXI or does it just suit her character? Perhaps she's a fan but I always thought Enix liked Leona Lewis more... Hamfruitcake 09 21:43, April 27, 2010 (UTC) 8D You guessed right! Shantotto's favorite band is The Mighty Led Zeppelin and her favourite songs are a tie between Ramble on and Traveling Riverside Blues! Judge Balthier
Seriously, where do these huge quotes come from?? KujaRhapsodos 01:29, April 28, 2010 (UTC) Landslide senses tingling! Shantotto is getting owned in this fight already. TheBlueDragoon
Meh, Journey was much better. Although Led Zeppelin just kind of pops into your head when you think Rock and Roll. I'll give Shantotto good taste in music, but I really want to strangle her. o.o --JFHavoc 03:56, April 28, 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm... a character I haven't reached yet, or a character for a game I haven't played (let alone know which one)... tough choice this week Likeacupcake 08:09, April 28, 2010 (UTC) Okay, what is with all the bloody poetry lately? I just have to ask. Exdeath64
Can anyone say murder? Shantotto is getting outvoted two to one as of right now. { TheBlueDragoon
Gotta admire the dedication. Shantotto has half the votes, yet her side is quite a bit longer than Montblanc-hy Montblanc. KujaRhapsodos 12:49, May 1, 2010 (UTC) The song lyrics are getting spammy guys, enough please. Doreiku Kuroofangu 13:31, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
Montblanc + Gunner Class + Ultima Charge = Epic Win -Nokareon
When do they usually start the next fight? Mondays or Tuesdays? Zeypher 12:52, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

What the hell happened to Malboro's votes????? FinalFantasyAerith 17:19, April 19, 2010 (UTC) Abstaining due to severe lack of interest. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 03:52, April 16, 2010 (UTC) Yay, a monster fight. Haven't had one of these in a while. It's nice to have a lil' variety in the system. King of Noobs 04:56, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
I think this might just go to Malboro. In X if I ever got into a fight with Malboro I would make sure one of my characters escaped first xD It's a really scary monster :S FinalFantasyAerith 09:10, April 16, 2010 (UTC) Tell me about it, whenever I was Inside Sin, I always made sure someone in my team had First Strike so I could use Flee in case I ran into a Great Malboro (obviously, I had to kill ten of them for the Monster Arena, but I made sure to wait until Tidus had First Strike on his Capture weapon and 200 or higher for Strength, Agility, Magic, Accuracy, Evasion, Defense, Magic Defense, and at least 150 Luck (so that I could hopefully nail it with a bunch of Critical Hits and using the Quick Hit ability, while I had everyone else (usually Auron and either Lulu or Rikku) run away. King Nothing Speak now, vermin! 11:52, April 16, 2010 (UTC) can't vote becasue they're pretty much equal for me. King Behemoths f**k me over unless I land Silence or Berserk in FF5. the worst part is I fight MANY of them for every non-behemoth battle, let alone the Movers! Bad Breath is the ultimate f**k-you-over attack in FF8, due to lack of ribbons, so malboros are pure EVIL there. TARDISES 15:38, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
I'm always amazed to see that both sides, in several fights, use the SAME argument (NOT plural). Behemoths voters: I hate Malboros because of their Bad Breath attack. Malboro voters: I vote for Malboro because of their Bad Breath attack. KujaRhapsodos 17:14, April 16, 2010 (UTC) Hey, is the coding for this messed up? The Behemoth part is like, 75% of teh page on my computer. SilverCrono (Talk) 18:00, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
Drake, I couldn't have said it better. I always have as many status healing items as I can, but Malboros just tend to status rape you. Funny thing is, some games they very rarely attack you physically, so even if you do have Remedies, they rarely do any good. Malboros are my worst nightmare. TheBlueDragoon
This is just to anyone who knows: Don't we have a bad fight week coming up in like... four weeks? TheBlueDragoon Just for clarification Malboros are in XIII. They're in an area on Pulse you can only get to with a Chocobo. It's also the area that leads to Titan's Trials. And yes I'm back. OwlEye
@TheBlueDragoon King Behemoths DO have a physical attack in FF5. I honestly prefer risking it with Berserk than them countering spells with Meteor. Vere rarely did the entire party survive a Meteor casting (usually at least one member is hit twice to kill them, but it means at least one member is unharmed, since I ALWAYS have the enture party alive when fighting in that general area.) TARDISES 08:57, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
@ Ash Crimson; you must have fairly... select tastes to be able to call one of those things cute. Seriously, what you on you, it sounds like good stuff. =P Likeacupcake 11:59, April 17, 2010 (UTC) Who's ready for my analysis? Ready? Here goes. XD I honestly expected Behemoths to dominate here. Their design is cooler and they are way strong. Most people I know find the Malboro to be just an annoyance and avoid it. I used to just run from the bastards. My point is, I'm amazed that at the time of this post, the score is nearly tied. I guess the Malboro is pretty popular. Although if it was an actual fight, I'm pretty sure the Behemoth would rip the Malboro to shreds, because they're usually immune to every status ailment anyway. TheBlueDragoon
Just as a thought, today is the switch date right? TheBlueDragoon
Well, I think its time we perform the ritual to summon TA to change the fight. TheBlueDragoon
I really think this is a fair one on one duel and not based on popularity, Malboro will win. Bad Breath is a killer and even a Behemoth will fall down to it's grasp, no matter how popular people want him (Behemoth) to win. For the next bout, I would like to see FFX (Seymour) against FFVII (Reno). Recurring boss against recurring boss! Zeypher 09:05, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

As much as i enjoyed Lulu's interesting atitude in FFX, it goes to Tifa for one reason: Power. Lulu's fury is all well and good, but you dont see it's full potential until you get Break damage limit (which required dodging 200 lightnings!). Tifa, on the other hand, is very powerful, but only if you do some certain things with her. I like the Powersoul trick: the Powersoul gets stronger the closer to dying she is, so Near-death = X2 damage; Death-sentence = X4 damage. And with Deathblow, she can deal max damage on the first disc of ff7. in fact, the ff7 speedrun currently posted on Speed Demos Archive utilizes just this strategy.
To AnonyMan: stat-wise, Lulu has a sky-high Evasion stat. Loz would have missed.... And she would have retaliated with any of lotsa powerful spells. KujaRhapsodos 00:14, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
Wow, another of my matches in the DNC. Now I have to think who to vote for. I love both of these girls equally. Damn, I made a hard choice this time. TheBlueDragoon Just out of curiousity, why does it make you laugh TA? TheBlueDragoon
Yes, look at VIII, where Lionheart and Quick Shot can kill just about anything short of the Weapons instantly, compared to XII, where the Quickenings are total crap. There's no consistency in the damage, and while the capacity to chain 50 or more Limit Breaks in a row is interesting, it's nearly impossible (at least for everyone I've met). King Nothing Speak now, vermin! 11:40, April 9, 2010 (UTC) The limit break system is far and wide, to bad not all of them are useful. And on FF XII, I've only been able to link about 20 or so quickenings together. And they still can't do much damage! Acrum92 14:10, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
What annoyed me about Lulu was that ruddy limit break of hers. My poor controller used to weep after I tried to twist the analogue thingy around alot!! Tifa's was hard to get right but that was more about timing than a strong hand ^_^ FinalFantasyAerith 14:13, April 9, 2010 (UTC) I've usually had better luck with Lulu's than with Tifa's, actually. In VII, most, if not all characters have at least two or three good limits. In VIII, nearly everyone (Quistis is the only exception where I'm concerned) has very, very kick-ass limit breaks. In X, everyone but Wakka and Kimahri has at least one really powerful limit. And with regards to Quickenings, I'm not lucky enough to get Luminescence on anything resembling a regular basis, so I usually have to aim for Torrent or Ark Blast. King Nothing Speak now, vermin! 12:29, April 12, 2010 (UTC) What's up with Gamer's vote? Number 9 for Lulu. Also, I laughed at BlueHighwind's vote. I actually get the reference :3!--DarkTriforce 20:00, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
I'm starting to think this was a bad fight to suggest. Lulu is getting hammered. I thought it might have been a good idea, but this is a runaway. TheBlueDragoon
Dagnabbit, VII's going to win one. I wanted to make it a three-strikes-you're-out deal. Nokareon
Lulu is too much of a woman to be a black mage. Tifa is too much of a woman to be a monk? KujaRhapsodos 12:04, April 10, 2010 (UTC)
I actually managed to chain 56 Quickenings in a row at a HP Critical Ahriman, the total power was enough to OHKO even a full-HP Ahriman! Uppfinnarn 12:54, April 10, 2010 (UTC)
To Oglop Master, about "We all know who will win all of these." If that's so, then explain how Yuffie, a VII character, lost to Shadow, a VI character? King of Noobs 23:34, April 10, 2010 (UTC)
I could be wrong, but isn't it time for a change? TheBlueDragoon
As I expected. Tifa is winning by a landslide (At least, at the time of this writing; there can always be change). --A.J. two 16:32, April 13, 2010 (UTC)
Shouldn't there be a new fight by now? Uppfinnarn 16:17, April 14, 2010 (UTC) And to think I was actually going to create an account and vote in the next battle... Then they come out with battle of the big tits. No thank you.

Time for my analysis. I thought of this fight as a random idea. I actually expected a huge landslide in Yuffie's favor. I didn't think there would be a lot of Shadow fans. And now I see I was wrong. Still, this was an interesting fight. I think it may have been my best suggestion so far. TheBlueDragoon Wow, an actual close fight. I love the peanut gallery this week. We have people actually arguing over what constitutes a ninja. If you want to see a ninja, watch the anime Basilisk. Now that was true ninja. Naruto tries, but how many traditional ninja wear a fucking orange jumpsuit? I see the arguments below and, while valid, we don't really know much about the actual ninja from Japan. We know they were trained in murder and espionage, but they were probably just regular men and women who were highly trained. No Rasengan, no Doujutsu... Just people sneaking through the shadows. TheBlueDragoon
Nice to see a new DNC match, but I'm still waiting on the "official" results for Leviathan vs. Phoenix. Noobking87 Whats with "The" Shadow and "The" Yuffie? FaythOfFenrir 05:17, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
Cool! Another of my fights made it into the DNC. And Noobking, the original hyperactive ninja is Naruto, not Yuffie. TheBlueDragoon
"To the certain people who voted for Yuffie (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) you disappoint me </3."
I almost voted for Yuffie Fae. This was my suggestion, and my intent was to vote for Yuffie, because I predicted a blowout for Shadow. TheBlueDragoon
To everyone who votes against Yuffie because she "stole your Materia": Shadow steals whatever gear you give him every time he leaves your party, as well as making you pay for the privilege. Yuffie only does that in a sidequest, Shadow does it constantly. Enjoy your hypocrisy. StarkMaximum 03:54, April 1, 2010 (UTC) Joke fights archived here, hope you liked them. By the way, that counts as the Kuja vs Genesis fight done, so no more complaining, right? ;) — YuanSalve!Acta 11:50, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
Before I vote, I have something to say to all of the "Yuffie is not a ninja" people: The costume that Shadow & other ninja from popular culture wear is derived from a costume worn by Japanese stagehands. Characters playing ninja would also wear these costumes because they would "blend in"--people typically ignored the stagehands. Contrary to popular belief, it has nothing to do with "blending into the darkness." The only ninja-like attribute that Shadow really has is being a mercenary.Neo Bahamut 16:12, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
Ironically, the one thing I failed to take into account was who would win in an actual fight. I'm not really sure. Let's be honest, here, Yuffie was running up buildings, using flash bombs, & doing all kinds of crazy shit. Also, she's better with magic than Shadow & has better Limit Breaks. He could be the strongest character in FFVI & he'd still have his work cut out for him.Neo Bahamut 18:57, April 3, 2010 (UTC)
For all those people who talk like they know something about ninjas: Unless you majored in Japanese history and wrote your senior thesis on ninjas (hey, it could happen), pull your head out of your ass, put down the EyeWitness Visual Guide to Ninjas you got when you were nine, and just admit with the rest of us that you know nothing about them except that they were probably friggin' awesome. Masamune 03:47, April 7, 2010 (UTC)
Hey now, that was both cold and uncalled for. Granted, I generally do at least some fact-checking, always scroll down, and readily admit I'm wrong if someone else can prove it.... King Nothing Speak now, vermin! 11:27, April 8, 2010 (UTC) |

I archived a bunch of things not related to this fight here. Discuss the running of the DNC somewhere else, please. — YuanSalve!Acta 04:52, March 24, 2010 (UTC) Time for my usual commentary on votes. "I hate FFVII & everything it stands for." Protecting the planet is evil. You heard it here first. Snark aside, I have no idea where the vote about the "millions of Judges & hundreds of SOLDIERs" is getting its figures. Also, I contend that SOLDIER members were not weak random encounters. 2nd & 3rd weren't all that special IIRC, but the fights on the Mako Cannon were a bitch, & SOLDIER 1st Classes could easily carve off half of my HP with that Braver-like attack. Neo Bahamut 04:51, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
This is completely off-topic, but I was thinking the other day that, even though it wouldn't work in the DNC, SOLDIER vs. Gotei 13 (from Bleach) would probably be a better match-up. They're both fairly large, elite, superpowered forces that use magic in conjunction with unique weapons & have a similar focus on secrecy.Neo Bahamut 00:33, March 24, 2010 (UTC) I think something deserves mention here: There are actually five SOLDIERs 1st class: Sephiroth, Angeal Hewley, Genesis Rhapsodos, Zack Fair, and the forever nameless Soldier A. Come on, people, just because Soldier A is generic, uniformed, and suffering from Red-Shirted Stormtrooper Syndrome, doesn't mean he doesn't deserve any credit. The.DreadnoughT 20:14, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
I'm unusually chatty this week. I've been ignoring the bulk of the SOLDIER votes because it's the side with less support, but I felt the need to ask about this: How do the Archadian Judges "die from a paper cut"?Neo Bahamut 04:11, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
Where did "Kuja vs. Sephiroth" went? Kuzlalala 07:40, March 25, 2010 (UTC)
Empire's doin' better than I thought. Guess there were more XII fans than I expected. Noobking87Noobking87 23:45, March 25, 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry for coming out of nowhere with this, but, WHAT HAPPENED TO KUJA VS. SEPHIROTH? IT DISAPPEARED? I wasn't able to log on for a while. Someone care to enlighten me? Mynameissora 15:27, March 27, 2010 (UTC)
Um... Has anyone been deleting my votes? I've voted twice and it's showed up, but then I've come back the next day and my vote was gone. Why would this be happening? oglop_master
This is going to be deleted because it's unsigned, but I'm preserving it because it's a good point: Most of the responses in the negative for this are that as few of a number as Soldier is, they couldn't win. Keep in mind, six individuals, most of whom were useless anyway succeeded in bringing it to it's knees. I say SOLDIER, simply because they have more skill and numbers then the protagonists of XII did.Neo Bahamut 00:47, March 29, 2010 (UTC)
Time to change! KujaRhapsodos 21:30, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
A better fight would be the Archadian Judge Magisters vs. the Turks, in my opinion. More comparison between smaller, elite groups. 8bit 03:42, March 29, 2010 (UTC)
User:Clvabl the fight is unfair i should be Archadian Empire vs Shinra or SOLDIER vs Judges. |
