I think this one has a good shot at making it. It's an even match-up with characters that were generally well-liked by most gamers. I think it would get good battle in the DNC. I predict a Kimahri win though. Just a prediction. SidviciousHart 18:57, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

Exdeath v. Cloud of darkness[]
Rational: Two final bosses that are closely tied to the void. Also there are not nearly enough Exdeath fights.
Rational: The question is why hasn't this fight happened yet? They're similar, and that's good enough for a fight. I just looked at some of the queued, like WTF? And from what I saw, this hasn't been done yet.

Please stop putting stuff in the wrong format, it's so annoying. It's clearly stated at the top of the page what the proper format is. SidviciousHart 17:12, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, Princess. So petty, rejecting a suggestion because I dared use the improper format. BTW, what "stop"? Telling me to stop suggests I've done this before. Drake Clawfang 17:18, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
No, I rejected it because I don't think it's going to be a good fight, actually. And it's clear that you've done this before, because you use the old format that isn't used here anymore. I'm not trying to start a little flame war with you bud, I was actually nice and decided to fix the format of it for you. I never said stop suggesting, I just said to do it right. SidviciousHart 17:22, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
You call me annoying, reject my suggestion and tell me to review the rules. Odd definition of nice. Drake Clawfang 17:25, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
I clearly said that putting stuff in the wrong format was annoying. I'm not going to Vote for something just to be nice, either. If I don't like it, I don't like it. And the reviewing the rules is for you own good, bud. I'd just drop it if I were you, there's no point to keep doing this. Just make sure you do it the right way in the future and you won't have this issue. SidviciousHart 17:43, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
Hey, SidviciousHart, I would leave subject alone right now if I were you. Drake Clawfang has been around here a lot longer than you have. Try to pick and choose who you fight with from now on, OK? @Drake Clawfang: I like the fight, but I would save it for when FF13 actually comes out. Until then, we don't really know enough about Lightning to compare her to anybody.- Ninja of Wind-
No, he's right, I have been here for a long time but I didn't look to see if things had changed. Don't worry about it, I'm over it. Drake Clawfang 20:21, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I'm gonna step in to say something. What is this, high school? We shouldn't call Drake out on stupid shit he does because he has seniority? Now, I will agree, flipping out on him is over the top, & this person's justification that he "must have used the wrong format before" makes no friggin' sense. However, he's also giving off the impression that he's butthurt over someone voting down his suggestion. At the end of the day, I'm gonna side with him on this one, but I'm also gonna say that he's not granted immunity to being questioned because he's "been here longer."Neo Bahamut 03:29, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

Griever vs. Fenrir[]
Rationale: Strength and Vigilance vs. Lonliness and Guilt. THe connection is that they are both symbols that represent one's personality.
Rational: Two characters who can transform into powerful alternate forms in battle. One through her esper linage, the other due to the that saved his life.
I actually think this could be a good fight. Vincent and Terra are both fairly popular, so this would be interesting. TheBlueDragoon 21:49, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
As I said before, "magic vs. technology" and all, I'm supporting. The.DreadnoughT 19:40, November 7, 2009 (UTC)
I don't like to vote down fights, but this SERIOUSLY needs an Against Vote. Terra is the most unoriginal waste of the Dragonball Z Clause that I have EVER seen. I realize this is just an opinion, but Terra turns purple & Vincent actually becomes 4 separate monsters with different sets of attacks. So, I think it's fairly obvious that this will just be about whether people like Terra or Vincent more, because I'd honestly rather doubt that many people find Terra's Esper transformation clever or interesting.Neo Bahamut 01:00, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Didn't Doomsday only appear in one game? JohnnyC 07:14, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

Rationale: In light of the recent announcement about Final Fantasy XIII, I hereby request a battle to determine the true theme song of the game! I trust the voters will make the right decision...
i prefer to pretend that crappy pop ballads don't ever occur in Final Fantasy games, regardless the language. don't encourage them! I mean, at least when they first did it for VIII, and arguably for X-2, they made sense in the context of the story. All the other ones were just tacky, unnecessary, and felt more like Disney than Final Fantasy. --Adonzo 12:21, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Speaking of which, what happened to all those other famous weapons: Excalibur, Masamune, Ultima Weapon, and the like? The.DreadnoughT 04:53, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
The weapons you named aren't as iconic. There are variations, unlike these 2, which are character-specific. Also, excalibur & masamune tend to take the form of ordinary longswords & katanas, & thus aren't as recognizeable. Besides, he listed other similarities besides the fact that they were famous.Neo Bahamut 05:10, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

Sephiroth vs. Exdeath[]
Rationale: Basically my response to Kuja vs. Sephiroth & the lack of Exdeath fights. Both are very impressive villains that only really fell due to their own arrogance, can't seem to be killed off for good, &, quite frankly, are absolutely terrifying.
Suggestor:Neo Bahamut 01:32, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Even though I support Exdeath, and the fight seems interesting, I just know that those fanboys are gonna make Sephiroth win hands-down. VoidCommanderExdeath 01:52, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
I don't suppose I can trouble you to come up with a reason better than "Sephiroth might be more popular, & so my guy might lose," can I?Neo Bahamut 02:05, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
It's not that he MIGHT lose, it's just that he WILL lose. Face it: all of those fanboys out there will just vote for the mama's boy, all because they've never heard of the other guy! It's the way popularity contests work. VoidCommanderExdeath 03:49, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
No, that's not true. FFVII doesn't always win. And the fights it does win are usually close, anyway. Take Jenova vs. Sin, for example. So, why should something get voted down because it has FFVII? It's...the FF Wiki...seriously.... These sorts of preconceived notions get SO annoying, if you're a fan of the game. But, in any case, that's sort of what I was getting at: If that is indeed the way these work, what is the sense in voting down a suggestion based off of it--even if it does happen, which we can't really be sure of yet? That's like saying you can't win a soccer game by scoring a goal, or else it's cheating.Neo Bahamut 06:04, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

Vagrant Story is considered to be part of--ugh--Ivalice Alliance.Neo Bahamut 04:04, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
See? He's basically a FF character. And this would be a good fight: they're both dark amnesiacs who eventually get their memories back and kick all sorts of butt. I don't see why this should be a big problem.Moocowisi 04:27, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

Actually, I was hoping that the Cloud fanboys would be outweighed by the VII haters and Ivalice fans :)Moocowisi 05:26, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
I hate VII haters. They're so annoying. At least fans don't bitch endlessly that people don't like the game. Shit, even -I- at least wait until it's RELEVANT. As for Ivalice fans, I would say that I'm probably an Ivalice hater. Only it's more like "I think Ivalice alliance is a steaming pile of shit that served only to derail the awesomeness that was FFT, & probably the only thing good about it was that it gave us War of the Lions."Neo Bahamut 05:31, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
I don't say it for the sake of it. It kinda annoys me too, but its even sadder that fights involving VII characters are shot down because of it. Basillisk 08:49, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, Ivalice isn't my favorite, either, but I don't HATE it. Actually, I don't even think Vagrant Story was that great gameplay wise. And VII may be overrated, but that's no reason for haters to hate it. But yeah, I don't think this fight is going anywhere *sigh*. I'll think of something else. Moocowisi 05:39, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

Rational:Both characters are closely related to the main characters of their respective games and have their own stories are also closely related to their respective games.
Rational: Once upon a time, the two of them went head to head in Magicite Madness, where Vivi was crowned the best FF character. It's been almost two years since that day. Kain wants a rematch.
I was tempted to do "Vivi vs Gilgamesh", but opted for this instead. Drake Clawfang 19:32, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

Genesis Avatar v. Braska's Final Aeon[]
Rational: Two big, huge final bosses. Except they're not final bosses, there's one, less challenging fight afterwards: Zack's scripted death and Yu Yevon. Plus, there's some electric guitar action as BGM throughout these two battles.
Rational: Both with messiah problem, long, twisted hair, loved by the commoners of games which they occur, hated by the players, rulers (one for the Guados, second for the Archadians). For both death isnt a problem(they grew even stronger after death).

Irvine was a great womanizer! Did you never see the scene after Galbadia Garden where he walks away pimping with Selphie and Rinoa? JohnnyC

Four Fiends vs Archfiends[]
Rational: the Servants of Chaos vs the Servants of Zemus.
This has been suggested quite a few times, and I give the same reasons. One, the roster is too large. It's basically the same as pitting four characters against four characters. And two, as a group, the original four fiends would probably dominate anyway. JohnnyC

I had actually considered Barbariccia vs Pazuzu (because as the only thing in MQ to show any hint of inspiration, I consider him badass), but I doubt anyone besides me knows who Pazuzu is, not to mention it'd be a landslide for Barbariccia.

Rational: Now, I know the three of them ducked it out in FF7:CC. But, I think that this is going to be an esception. You see, I think we should rate based on favourite, and skill. Not nessecairly on strength. And also, don't see many battles with Genesis about.
I have a poll on this. Practically no one likes Angeal & Sephiroth has twice as many votes as Genesis. It has over 45 votes so far, so it's a pretty significant sample size. So, not only has this fight happened before, we KNOW it's destined to be a landslide in Sephiroth's favor.Neo Bahamut 02:25, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
I Agree with Neo Bahamut it would be Obvious User:Kassandria
Jecht vs Kain[]
Rational: Memetic Badasses. Let's find out which one is the REAL Chuck Norris of the Final Fantasy series!
Rational: Warriors from ye olden middle ages and the high-tech future, both with a fierce devotion to protecting someone. Ovelia and Serah, dumbass.
Don't give me bullshit like "Baaawww! FFXIII isn't out in English yet! This fight is against the rules! Baaawww!" And you know what? I don't care if "X has a better chance of winning" or any of that. Fuck you.
So... why would you say "fuck you" to the people that might vote for your suggestion? Don't you think your time would be better served convincing people of your idea rather than making preemptive insults to the possible detractors?CodeNameRedXIII 22:45, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Terra v. Rydia[]
Rational: I think it would be good to pit these two together, both have their similarities, most obviously being female and related to summons in some way in their respective games.
Rational: They are both two of the lesser known female protagonist's from old school Final Fantasy. They are both known for being selfless, gentle and kindhearted by nature. It would also be Lenna's first fight in the DNC.
Seeing as to how Rosa is hated here, this might actually not be a landslide. FFV is often at the bottom of people's lists of the main series. I'd like to see this fight. Plus Lenna is cool. TheBlueDragoon 18:18, January 26, 2010 (UTC)
I would like to see more of the 2D Final Fantasy's getting involved in the DNC fights. Final Fantasy II, III and V still have plenty of characters that can be chosen. --StragusLore 18:04, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Leviathan v. Phoenix[]
Rational:Two power-house summons that are not put in nearly enough games. Water vs Fire, Flight vs Swimming, Rebirth vs a Watery Grave
I'm sorry, everyone. I copied and pasted the format posted at the top, but it still looks like ass. I can't figure out what I did wrong.CodeNameRedXIII 05:52, January 29, 2010 (UTC)
I think its the coding Red. Someone screwed with it, or something like that. Anyway, this is one hell of a suggestion. My two favorite summons. I'd actually have to think who to vote for. TheBlueDragoon 06:40, January 29, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you! Side Note: it was actually your suggestion for more Leviathan in the DNC that inspired this fight.CodeNameRedXIII 17:44, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Rational:

Is it cheating to vote for yor own fight? 1stclasswarrior 20:35, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Well this is interesting... TheBlueDragoon 00:16, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
I love Quina. I thought s/he was hysterical in FF9, and the blue magic s/he utilized had some of the best effects in the game. S/he was also the only source of high level wind and earth magic, and White Wind and Mighty Guard were some of the best support spells. I didn't really care for Cait Sith, but I didn't hate him either.CodeNameRedXIII 19:32, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Atomos v. Pandemona[]
Rational: Two summons who both suck. This was suggested twice before and recieved good support both times.
Though this isn't a bad idea, the rational for it isn't all that great. Most Hated fights tend to degenerate into arguments in the DNC almost as much as fights between Squall and Cloud. Words like "fanboy" and "shut up," and "fuck you" get thrown around like candy at a parade. I'll still vote for it.CodeNameRedXIII 19:42, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Its a pun Red. Pandemona sucks you in and shoots you out, and so does Atomos. A good pun in fact. TheBlueDragoon 20:55, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Oh. My. God. I usually pride myself on these things. But I suppose that's what pride gets me. Point taken, and it is a mighty fine pun. Durrrrr...CodeNameRedXIII 06:04, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
Don't let it get you down. When slash first suggested it, I didn't get it either. TheBlueDragoon 08:23, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
Ramza v. Terra[]
Rational:
Reluctant heroes, part of two of the greatest plot lines in videogame history, and personalities that are an odd combination of childlike innocence and an unbreakable willpower and set of morals.
Rationale: It's a classic Final Fantasy "battle of the hideously deformed badass final bosses"! Both of these dudes are the result of the main antagonists (Exdeath and Zemus, respectively) getting transformed, killed, consumed by the Void, etc. They're both evil, quite ugly, and play very similar roles in their respective games.
NOTE: Either Exdeath or Neo Exdeath could work here, really. Maybe even both as one entity (a "slashie"). Though I suppose one might argue "tree" Exdeath would be more analogous to Zeromus, as Neo Exdeath (multi-part) is more comparable to the Tiger/Machine/Magic/Power conglomeration (from FFVI) on crack if you ask me. Whichever you all think works better.
Looks like you put a lot of thought into this suggestion. I happen to be quite fond of Exdeath as a villain. Well done on the suggestion. TheBlueDragoon 22:40, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
This is a pretty solid suggestion. I happen to love both characters, plus the DNC needs more Cecil and Paladins. I'd actually have to think of who to vote for. Your suggestions always are good. TheBlueDragoon 08:41, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you xD, Bjarnster 15:20, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
I think this is a great fight. Besides, I havn't seen either of these characters in the DNC in a long time. I think it's about time we got back to some characters of the older FFs before we usher in FFXIII.CodeNameRedXIII 19:47, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
Couldn't have said it better Red. This is a great suggestion. Hopefully this one goes for next week. TheBlueDragoon 20:33, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
Yea bring back the older characters very gd selection and a very hard choose for me User:Kassandria
Umaro v. Kimahri Ronso[]
Rational:
Non-human playable characters, they usually do not talk and they are strong party members, when trained properly. Plus it would be Umaro's first time in the DNC.
I can see where you're going with this, but this will be a huge blowout. Sephiroth is, for some reason I'll never understand, the most popular villain ever. TheBlueDragoon 22:39, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
Rational:Cloud's trusted right hand partner and Lightning's hot blooded companion. two fist fighters face off!
Seriously, they both fight using raw energy and black gloves and the two are like sidekicks for the heroes. Snow's icy fists against Tifa's rough and brutal punches! who do you think wins?
Rational: Two perky girls, both hated by the majority of narrow-headed inhabitants all over the world. One is despised because she is an Al Bhed, and the other is despised because she is a l'Cie. Plus, they both control mech-type weapons.
Yeah, I know XIII isn't out yet. But perhaps it would be good after it's release, eh?
Just as a sidenote, I'm probably going to hate Vanille. The only perky girl characters I like are Rikku and Penelo. Vanille somehow reminds me of Selphie. TheBlueDragoon 02:21, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
But it's almost too early to tell. There's not a lot of her in the trailers, and I've heard that the game is narrarated from her perspective. She could be the first perky girl that fans like. Then again, maybe not. :PCodeNameRedXIII 13:06, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
True yes, but from what I have seen, I hate her already. XD I'll give her a chance though. TheBlueDragoon 21:28, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
Sazh vs Snow[]
Rational: To celebrate the release of Final Fantasy XIII, we're gonna have a fight between two of the game's party members who wield opposite elemental powers! One uses guns that do little damage, wields Fire and Lightning, and can crack others into shape with his synergist magic. The other, however, tends to rely on brute strength with just a pair of fists, the elements of Ice and Water, and can soak in even the strongest attacks. Yet both are light-hearted and are willing to go through any lengths to get the ones they love back. Wait! I didn't mention they both have female Eidolons, did I!?
So, which is it? The fiery black dude or the icy white dude? The choice is yours.
I haven't seen an airship fight or a suggestion for one in a while. I think it's a mighty fine idea that we mix it up a bit.CodeNameRedXIII 13:02, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
This one became a fight! I'm gonna cross it out. SSFF6B 00:15, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
Lightning vs. Cloud[]
Rational:
I don't know why no-one has suggested this yet... Lightning was originally thought to be the female equivalent of Cloud and both are cold-hearted, ex-military personnel. Not only that, but they also both have weather-related names!
I'm pretty sure this has been suggested before. But like the other FFXIII fights, it better to wait until the game is released stateside and in Europe. TheBlueDragoon 00:06, February 18, 2010 (UTC)
I would echo the last part of Dragoon's comment. FFXIII hasn't even been released yet for many of us. I know everyone's excited about it, but seriously...wait until the EU/NA release. For great justice. The Cheez 06:17, February 18, 2010 (UTC)
Dancing Mad vs Clash on The Big Bridge[]
Rational:two extremely popular epic songs from the series, just that.--Cid of the Lufaine 17:55, February 22, 2010 (UTC)
Rational: Both of them are high members of a political power, they themselves are high members of the power, they both have relatives that is on the player's party, and both of them tries to atone their past mistakes.

Sorry i dont edit much so my user page is a mess.
any way i think it will be cool O YEAH
I actually think this is an okay suggestion, but here's a little tip from a decidedly non-expert: when writing the "Rational" portion of the suggestion page, you might want to include reasons other than "I like it," or "I think it's a good idea." We know you think it's a good idea, and that you like it. You wouldn't have suggested it otherwise. :)CodeNameRedXIII 20:31, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I can see where you're going with this. I think its a decent suggestion. Like Red said though, try and give an actual connection between the characters. You're right, and it was rejected the first time because FFXIII hadn't come out. Fights are typically suggested again to to garner more support, and now that 13 has come out, people can properly vote on the characters.CodeNameRedXIII 03:17, March 15, 2010 (UTC)
Angelo v. Squall[]
Rational: Jealousy Fight! They both like Rinoa! This is meant to amuse people- Also, it's Angelo's debut! I think.
Rational:They're so alike! They're both only half human. They have big bows on the back of their heads (well, at least in Dissidia). They have a body part that is green (Aerith's eyes are green, Terra's hair is green). They like flowers. They both had some sort of moment with Cloud...
What Fang are you talking about? There's a whole disambiguation about it. ShirubaKurono20:52, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

Cloud and Zack v.Genesis and Sephiroth[]

Cloud and Zack are best friends and Gensis and Sephiroth were teammates and allies in Shinra's special unit of supersoldiers, SOLDIER.
But whos bond is stronger?
I don't like multiple-people fights. SilverCrono 16:51, March 17, 2010 (UTC)

Rational:The Magitek Elite Versus The Self Proclaimed Sinner
Two main characters each blessed (or would say cursed?) with the ability to change into a powerful alternate form in battle. Terra's change is due to her magical Esper linage. Vincent transforms because of experiments that saved his life after Hojo tried to kill him. Both have associations with a Chaos. Vincent was infused with Chaos, and in Dissidia it is heavily implied that Terra once unwillingly fought for Chaos. At first, both struggled to control their new found powers, but both eventually succeeded.
This would be a fair fight as both characters have large fanbases.
I suggested this before and it was well supported, but it was archived.
Rational: Total crack suggestion, but actually intrigues me. Garnet with longer hair against her shorter-haired self later in the game, along with the personality changes that accompany the two.
Yuan just informed me Exdeath has never been in the DNC! We must correct this! If not this one, vote for the suggestion two headers down, the armored tree is long overdue for his arrival! DoreikuKuroofangu

Ifrit v. Shiva[]
Rational:Fire vs. Ice, Clash of personalities. You get it. I know it happened way before, but I think they deserve a do-over.
If you knew it happened before, why did you put it here again? This should just be crossed out or deleted straight out. TheBlueDragoon05:52, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
Because it happened when there were barely any people here! Hasn't it happened before that fights were repeated for that reason? Mynameissora 13:59, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
I've suggested Snow vs Sazh awhile back. Cluna06 02:45, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

Noctis v. Kid w/ Cards[]
Rational: Both unkown protagonists who might turn out to be cool. Let's see who people prefer.
If people don't understand, the Kid w/ Cards I mean is the (supposedly) main character of Final Fantasy Agito XIII. SilverCrono 19:12, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
Rational: Whether it's which is harder as a boss or which just looks the coolest, I've only seen one fight involving the Emperor and I thought this would be a good fight to change things up a bit.
Rational: Oh where to begin!? They are both hot blondes. They are both directors. They both wear glasses. Finally, one uses a Whip, the other, a Baton. HHHOOOTTTT!!!
Rational: Long time Final Fantasy critters, generally of the non-violent persuasion. Which tickles your fancy
more, our fine yellow feathered ostriches, or our cute little furry critters with a bon-bon on their head?

Sephiroth (SOLDIER) v. Sephiroth (One-Winged)[]
Rational:
Its something i always wondered...Would good~Guy Sephy win with all out skill or would his future, tainted self over power him with his Evil Intentions.
Protection of the People vs Punishment of the Traitors.
Basically the same guy against himself. Madness. No. This is... SPARTA!!!! SilverCrono 19:00, March 26, 2010 (UTC)
