Is this thing open for business yet? Ah, just something I noticed. I don't know if it's just an old an out of use practice or it was just forgotten about, but according to Template:Staff Member, all Staff members get semi-protected user and talk pages, but this hasn't been put into effect since Jeppo and Scathe were promoted to mod. My talk page isn't protected from anons but my user page is. I suppose the protection was to help elevate the status of the mods. Actually, scanning through the staff, Drake and Xeno don't have the userpages protect either despite being promoted before Jeppo and me. I'm unsure how in practice this was in the first place.

I had never ever heard of this and my user rights were changed twice. I think it's downright stupid to protect staff talk pages and I'm against it, but I am completely indifferent to protecting userpages or anything regarding the userspace as a whole. I am not a supporter for needless protections. If a userpage is protected how can volunteers help if there needs to be maintenance? If a user talk page is protected, how would regular users with no account contact the user for help or discussion?
