The following is a list of equipment the player's character can wear in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

[edit] Weapons

The attack strength of Sword, Axe and Claw weapons increases as the player levels up. Bomb weapons have set strength and do not become stronger.

[edit] Swords

Sword-type weapons can be used to hit switches on the overhead map.

Weapon Stats
Steel SwordBattle power is 5. The player starts the game with this weapon.
Knight's SwordBattle power is 47 and the player's speed is increased by 5. Found in the Ice Pyramid
ExcaliburBattle power is 127, and the player's speed is increased by 5. Found in Pazuzu's Tower.

Axe-type weapons can be used to chop down trees and other obstacles on the overhead map.

Weapon Stats
AxeBattle power is 9 and is an axe-type attack. Kaeli gives the player this after completing the Level Forest.
Battle AxeBattle power is 62 and is an axe-type attack. Bought in Fireburg.
Giant's AxeBattle power is 105 and is an axe-type attack. Found in the Alive Forest.

Claw-type weapons can be used to climb up and down some walls on the overhead map and the Dragon Claw can also be used as a grappling hook to swing over large gaps.

Cat ClawBattle power is 2 and inflicts Poison and Paralyze. Phoebe gives the player this in the Wintry Cave.
Charm ClawBattle power is 37 and inflicts Poison, Paralyze, Sleep, Confusion and Blind. Found in the Mine.
Dragon ClawBattle power is 80 and inflicts Poison, Paralyze, Sleep, Confusion, Blind, Stone and Silence. Tristam gives the player this weapon in Aquaria.

Bomb-type weapons can be used to destroy obstacles on the overhead map and the Mega Grenade can be thrown from a distance to destroy obstacles. Bombs have high power but hit all enemies, lowering their effectiveness. They have limited ammo and additional ammo is sold in towns. Up to 99 bombs can be carried at once.

Weapon Stats
BombBattle power is 63 and is a bomb-type attack. Tristam teaches the player to use these in the Bone Dungeon.
Jumbo BombBattle power is 112 and is a bomb-type attack. Phoebe teaches the player to use these in Falls Basin.
Mega GrenadeBattle power is 162 and is a bomb-type attack. A man in Fireburg teaches the player to use these.

[edit] NPC Weapons

NPC weapons are weapons that are used only by the player's allies and cannot be equipped by the player. Kaeli is not listed, as she uses the Axe and the Giant's Axe during her travels with the player.

Morning StarBattle power is 110 and is an axe-type attack. Reuben uses this weapon.
Ninja StarBattle power is 26 and is a shoot-type attack. Tristam uses these and they have limited ammo.
Bow of GraceBattle power is 20 and is a shoot-type attack. Phoebe uses this weapon after giving the player the Cat Claw and it has limited ammo.

Unlike most other Final Fantasy games, characters automatically equip the strongest armor piece available for them. However, each armor piece is in every way superior to the last, so using inferior pieces would be irrelevant.

Weapon Stats
Steel HelmetDefensive power is 4. Bought in Aquaria.
Moon HelmetDefensive power is 9 and evade is increased by 5 and strength by 2. The helmet also resists Fire. Found in Lava Dome.
Apollo HelmetDefensive power is 15 and evade is increased by 15 and strength by 2. The helmet also resists Fire. Found on Mt. Gale.

Weapon Stats
Steel ShieldDefensive power is 5 and speed is increased by 5, evade by 6 and strength by 2. Bought in the Bone Dungeon.
Venus ShieldDefensive power is 10 and speed is increased by 5, evade by 6 and strength by 2. The shield also resists Paralyze. Found in Focus Tower.
Aegis ShieldDefensive power is 14 and speed is increased by 5, evade by 14 and strength by 2. The shield also resists Paralyze and Petrify. Found in Doom Castle.

Weapon Stats
Steel ArmorDefensive power is 6. The player starts the game with this armor.
Noble ArmorDefensive power is 12 and evade is increased by 6. The armor also resists Water and Poison. Found in the Ice Pyramid.
Gaia GearDefensive power is 15 and evade is increased by 7. The armor also resists Water, Wind, Poison and Sleep. Found on Mac's Ship.

Weapon Stats
CharmDefensive power is 1. Found in a Battlefield north of Level Forest.
Magic RingDefensive power is 3 and resists Silence. Found in a Battlefield west of Aquaria.
Cupid LocketDefensive power is 6 and resists Silence, Blind and Confusion. Bought in Windia.

NPC armor is armor that are used only by the player's allies and cannot be equipped by the player

Weapon Stats
Black RobeDefensive power is 15 and resists Instant Death. Tristam uses this armor.
Flame ArmorDefensive power is 14 and resists Fire. Reuben uses this armor.
Mystic RobeDefensive power is 15 and resists Water and Wind. Phoebe uses this armor.
Ether ShieldDefensive power is 12 and resists Paralyze and Sleep. Phoebe uses this shield.
Replica ArmorDefensive power is 15 and resists Water and Petrify. Kaeli uses this armor.
