Final Fantasy 1987–1994 is a compilation album of arranged, remixed, and previously unreleased tracks from the original Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy VI albums. Vocals were performed by various singers for "The Legend of The Great Forest" and "My Home, Sweet Home", by Sizzle Ohtaka (credited as Shizuru Ohtaka) for "Roaming Sheep" and "The Breeze", and by Svetla Krasteva for "Aria di Mezzo Carattere". "Dear Friends" is played on the piano by Toshiyuki Mori.

The first pressing comes in a cardboard box and includes a hardcover booklet titled "Jinsei omou ga mama," written by composer Nobuo Uematsu containing his essays on composing music.

Final Fantasy: N Generation[]

Final Fantasy N Generation: Official Best Collection is the North American version of the Final Fantasy 1987-1994 album, released by Tokyopop as part of a two disc "Generation" collection. The N stands for Nintendo, representing the Super Nintendo. The second disc is called Final Fantasy S Generation: Official Best Collection.
