The Yamatano Orochi is an enemy from the Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls and Anniversary versions of Final Fantasy. It is both a powerful and an extremely rare enemy encountered within the deepest levels of the Whisperwind Cove resembling Mount Gulg and the Flying Fortress.
The Yamatano Orochi uses Blaze, which can inflict a decent amount of damage to the whole party. They also possess relatively high HP and Magic Defense compared to most other enemies commonly encountered in the dungeon.

Yamata no Orochi (八岐の大蛇?, lit. Eight-branched great serpent) was a legendary 8-headed and 8-tailed Japanese dragon that was slain by the Shintou storm-god Susano'o.
