Trap Rooms are parts of dungeons in Final Fantasy II. Typically, there will be multiple doors in a given area, one leading forwards through the dungeon and the others leading to Trap Rooms. Upon entering a Trap Room, the party will be in the center of the room, and upon taking a single step, a scripted battle ensues. Therefore, the party has to go through at least two battles to leave the Trap Room, more if they decide to explore (and find nothing). These battles are not random and are therefore unavoidable, even if Gameshark codes are in place that prevent random battles. It is possible, however, to Warp out, depositing the player right outside the door, provided that Warping is permitted in that particular dungeon.
