Final Fantasy XI armor sets/Chains of Promathia

This is a list of armor sets introduced in the Chains of Promathia expansion pack of Final Fantasy XI.

Chains of Promathia was initially notable for introducing areas with level-capped content, thus requiring players to acquire gear in order to attempt content at those levels. A number of new low level gear sets were introduced in accordance with this move. However, this need no longer exists as the Level Sync feature allows players to use higher level gear (with stats reduced proportional to level difference) in capped areas, and the level caps on Chains of Promathia areas have since been removed.

Chains of Promathia introduced the Enchantment mechanic on equipment, which allowed then to grant special effects to players limited by a number of charges. This mechanic does not feature prominently on armor sets but rather stand-alone gear pieces.
