Bahamut is a one-of-a-kind Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Bahamut is the ninety-seventh card in the inventory and the ninth Level 9 card. It depicts the Bahamut Guardian Force found in the Deep Sea Research Center hidden island. The card is called "Bahamut" even if the player renames the GF.

As a Level 9 GF card, Bahamut has good values with an A, which represents the value 10 for the minigame and is unbeatable without special rules. Its value placements may also be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus.

Obtain[]

Bahamut's card drops from Bahamut itself by besting him in the boss battle at the Deep Sea Research Center. The earliest the player can get it is when they get to fly the Ragnarok.

If the player completed the Card Club quest before the point of no return (fighting the boss atop the Lunatic Pandora), the club members will appear aboard the Ragnarok in the endgame, from whom the player can win all Level 8–10 cards they do not currently hold in their deck, even the cards they had modified before. This also allows the player to modify the Bahamut card and then win it back.

As the Deep Sea Research Center is open during endgame, Bahamut's card is available in two places at the same time. However, even if the player gets it from the Card Club first, and then fights the boss, they can't have two Bahamut cards even if Bahamut still drops his card; the second card is never added to the inventory.

Card Mod[]

The Bahamut card refines into 100 Megalixirs. This is an amazing reward and may be worth doing for an inexhaustible supply of heals for superbosses, final dungeon and the final battles. If the Card Club is on board the Ragnarok during endgame, it is possible to modify the Bahamut card for the spoils and then still win it back.
