Red Giant is a Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Red Giant is the seventy-fifth card in the inventory and the ninth Level 7 card. It depicts Red Giant, a boss fought in the final dungeon to unlock one of the party's sealed abilities.

Red Giant has middling values, but its value placements may be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus.

Obtain[]

There is a 6.3% chance to get a Red Giant card when successfully using the Card command on a Chimera or a Forbidden.

Any AI Triple Triad player who uses Level 7 cards has a chance of using Red Giant in a play, from where the player can win it in a card match. One such card player is CC Heart of the Card Club. In the end of the game, all CC members besides Jack and Club will play with Level 7 cards when aboard the Ragnarok if the player completed the CC quest before the point of no return.

Card Mod[]

A Red Giant card refines into five Meteor Stones with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability, top tier spell that is always useful to have. However, the player will need Bahamut, a late game Guardian Force, to make the spell from the stones, and by that time the player can already freely draw the spell from Ruby Dragons. However, the Meteor Stone items can be useful on their own.
