Elastoid is a Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Elastoid is the forty-ninth card in the inventory and the fifth Level 5 card.

Being a Level 5 card, the card values on the Elastoid are middling, but its value placements may be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus.

Obtain[]

The Elastoid monster has a 3.5% chance to drop the card. Using the Card command on a Elastoid has a 93.7% chance to procure a Elastoid card when it succeeds.

Any AI Triple Triad player who uses Level 5 cards has a chance of using Elastoid in a play, from where the player can win it in a card match. Early such players are Trepie Groupie #1 in the Balamb Garden cafeteria, the man in charge of the Garden's entrance barriers, and Ma Dincht in Balamb Town.

Card Mod[]

An Elastoid card refines into a Steel Pipe with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability. Six Steel Pipes are needed for the secret Doomtrain Guardian Force (among Remedy+ and Malboro Tentacle). Steel Pipes are also used to make various weapons, and to refining into Aura Stones and Berserk spells. It is worth collecting Elastoid cards all throughout the game.
