The Purple Worm, also known as simply WORM, is an enemy in the original Final Fantasy found in the Chaos Shrine, and is a dangerous enemy when fought in groups. It is advised to kill off any other enemies that are accompanying the worm, then focus on defeating the worm using strong physical attacks and spells.

Etymology[]
The purple worm is a fictional monster from the original edition of Dungeons & Dragons. It is described as an enormous purple earthworm-like creature with a large toothed mouth.
