The Proto Clockwork is an enemy in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. They are encountered in Edge's Tale in the Tower of Babil. Though they have the same stats, there are two types of Proto Clockwork. The first type is encounter as a trio in a scripted encounter, and if he survived his portion of Edge's Tale, Zangetsu arrives to rejoin the party during the fight.
Similar to other mechanical enemies in the tower, using Lightning attacks on them, such as the Shock Ninjutsu, will cause them to enter a Confusion-like state where they will attack their allies and themselves until struck by another electrical attack. They have low HP and are easy to dispatch.
