The Necromancer is an undead enemy in Final Fantasy V. It appears on the last floor of the final dungeon with its frequent ally, the Gorgimera.

Necromancers will habitually cast buffs such as protect and shell. It may also use Zombie Powder, which can turn two random party members into zombies. A quick way to instantly kill it is to use a Phoenix Down on it. It is also susceptible to Level 3 Flare and Level 2 Old.

Bone Mails can be rarely stolen from a Necromancer.

Etymology

The term may sometimes be used in a more general sense to refer to black magic or witchcraft.
