Behind the scenes[]

In the Game Boy Advance version, the Missile Bay is red, while in all other releases, it is blue. This is due to a simple error on the part of the developers—the Missile Bay was accidentally assigned the palette of the Air Force enemy, which by coincidence is identical to the palettes used for the Missile Bay and Laser Gun, just with slightly darker gray tones and exchanging the blues for reds.

Etymology[]

In a modern military usage, a missile or guided missile, is a self-propelled guided weapon system, as opposed to an unguided self-propelled munition, referred to as just a rocket. Non-self-propelled airborne explosive devices are generally referred to as shells and usually have a shorter range than missiles. Missiles have four system components: targeting and/or guidance, flight system, engine, and warhead and come in types adapted for different purposes. In ordinary English-language usage predating guided weapons, a missile is any thrown object.
