The Squidite is a monster from Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. It appears in the Wintry Cave and attacks with two Sparna enemies. After it is defeated, it drops a treasure chest containing the Libra Crest. It is implied to have stolen the Libra Crest in the first place.

Unlike most Water-elemental enemies, Squidite is not weak to Thunder and Fire attacks, and can use electrical attacks itself.
The Squidite has three phases, depending on how much HP it has left. It initially appears with eight tentacles, two of which are barbed at the end and poised to attack. Upon a third of its HP gone, the two tentacles are gone, and the eyes are widened and become more reptilian. The last phase has its "head" lopped over its face.

Etymology[]
In the Japanese release, this creature is named "Belemnitida." Belemnitida is an extinct order of cephalopods, which existed during the Mesozoic era, from the Hettangian age of the Lower Jurassic to the Maastrichtian age of the Upper Cretaceous.
The German release refers to the creature as "Oktopus," the traditional German spelling of "octopus".
