The Minotaur is a monster in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest that is poisoning the Level Forest. With Kaeli accompanying him, Benjamin can break its disguise as a tree and attack it. The Minotaur poisons Kaeli prior to the battle, forcing Benjamin to find an Elixir to cure her.
Minotaur is one of two bosses, other than the Vile Four and the Dark King, that speaks, the only other being Dullahan. Its only line of dialogue is "Uwa ha ha! Surprise!".
In its full health, Minotaur kneels and holds its axe. After losing some health, its left horn is cut off, and after losing more health sustains damage to its weapon and gear. In the North American version Minotaur can be defeated by casting Life on it thanks to a bug. This does not work in the European release.

Etymology[]
The Minotaur was a creature from Greek mythology with the head of a bull and the body of a man. He is descended from the union of the Queen of Crete and a white bull. He roamed the Labyrinth, where he hunted and killed a tribute of young men and women until he was slain by Theseus.
