Minotaur (ミノタウロス, Minotaurosu?, lit. Minotaurus), also known as Bull or Minitaurus, is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series. It is a creature with a variety of appearances, but it usually possesses the head of a bull and the muscular body of a man, sometimes possessing a tail as well. Though their appearances have varied from intelligent humanoids to monstrous beasts, they are usually regarded as formidable foes, sometimes appearing only as bosses.

Minotaur is often paired with Sekhret to form the Brothers, a recurring pair of bosses or summoned monsters.

Etymology[]

The Minotaur was a creature from Greek mythology with the head of a bull and the body of a man. He is descended from the union of the Queen of Crete and a white bull. He roamed the Labyrinth, where he hunted and killed a tribute of young men and women until he was slain by Theseus.
