"Help" description

Trigger Happy (クイックトリガー, Kuikku Torigā?, lit. Quick Trigger) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series, identified as the signature attack of Yuna from her appearance in Final Fantasy X-2.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy X-2[]

Trigger Happy is a command ability available exclusively to the Gunner dressphere. The command allows the user to shoot a number of times within a short time-limit based on the amount of Times the R1 is pressed during the time limit. Its function has been compared to Shot which also offers a time limit and an amount of attacks based on player-input.

Players can choose attacks at the same time as the user is using Trigger Happy, forcing the user to multitask or focus on Trigger Happy. If multiple users are using Trigger Happy at one time then each press of R1 will fire for all users.

The strength of each shot is equal to that of an ordinary attack. Each shot can deal 9,999 damage if the Cat Nip accessory is equipped and the user is in HP Critical status. Due to this, the Trigger Happy ability has the potential to be the strongest attack. This is one of the best strategies for taking out most of the bosses and tough enemies in Via Infinito. This trick no longer works in the International + Last Mission or HD Remaster versions, as the developers changed Cat Nip's function to include Auto-Slow and Auto-Berserk, the latter of which preventing the selection of the Trigger Happy command.

The time limit can be increased to 2.2 seconds by learning the Trigger Happy Lv.2 ability for 80 AP, and that time can be further increased to 2.6 seconds by learning the Trigger Happy Lv.3 ability for 150 AP. It should be noted that to learn Trigger Happy Lv.3, Happy Trigger Lv.2 must be learned. If the user is in Haste status, the delay between each shot is reduced, effectively increasing the number of shots.
