Sand Bear is an enemy in Final Fantasy V. It is encountered in the Desert of Shifting Sands in the first world, but also appears in a small desert area west of Regole and in a tiny secluded desert area north of Jachol (the area where Gohn was) in the merged world.

Its attack, Right Claw, will drain the HP of its target. It is weak to Aqua Breath, being a desert-type enemy. Level 4 Graviga and Level 2 Old also work.
Similar to its counterpart, the Shell Bear, the Sand Bear is the only source of a rare weapon, in this case the Javelin spear, that can be stolen from it. It is fairly powerful for that point of the game, though it is useless until the party acquires the Dragoon job.
