Pulsework Centurion is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII. They are not overly difficult, but can be annoying as the player must stagger them to deal damage effectively. When the Pulsework Centurion is staggered, it will not be able to move or attack and will only be immune to Poison. A paradigm of three Ravagers is the fastest way to deal with them.

Etymology[]

A centurion was a professional officer of the Roman army after the Marian reforms of 107 B.C. Most centurions commanded 80 men but senior centurions commanded cohorts, or took senior staff roles in their legion. Centurions were also found in the Roman navy.

The Japanese name, "Mamluk", is a term most commonly used referring to non-Arab (such as Turkic, Caucasian, Eastern and Southeastern European) slave-soldiers which were assigned military and administrative duties, serving the ruling Arab dynasties in the Muslim world.
