Heavy shield that defends against elemental attacks.

Final Fantasy V description

Force Shield (フォースシールド, Fōsu Shīrudo?), also known as Mythical Bangle, is a recurring shield in the Final Fantasy series. It is often one of the more powerful shields. While it usually has mediocre Defense, it usually makes up for it with its abilities, which usually deal with halving elemental damage. Oftentimes, it is an universal shield that anyone can equip.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy V[]

Appearing only in the Advance and 2013 Matrix Software ports, the Force Shield is the reward for defeating Omega Mk.II in the Sealed Temple. It grants +5 Weight, -5 Speed, and a mere +15 Defense and +10 Evasion, but halves the damage of all elemental attacks.

Final Fantasy VI[]

Shield that defends only against magic.

Description

The Force Shield is a universal shield that can be equipped by everyone except Umaro. While it provides no boost to physical stats, it provides +70 Magic Defense and +50% Magic Evasion. Additionally, it halves damage from Fire Fire, Ice Ice, Lightning Lightning, Earth Earth, Wind Wind, and Water Water-elemental attacks, grants Auto-Shell to the user, and teaches Shell at a x5 rate. It can be found in Kefka's Tower, stolen from Glutturn, won from Ice Dragon, and won in the Dragon's Neck Coliseum by betting the Paladin's Shield.

It is affected by the immunity bug. If the wearer enters battle in KO or Petrify, and are revived, rather than having Auto-Shell they become immune to Shell. Having the Force Shield equipped at the beginning of the battle, and leaving it on the character for a turn before de-equipping it, gives the Shell immunity and the status won't come off.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius[]

Shields usually protect their wielder from physical attacks, but the Force Shield shows its power in shielding its wielder from magic attacks. This shield is particularly useful for units weak to long range magic attacks, since it has the unique ability to weaken magic. However, they are unable to be reproduced, having been seemingly made using Farplane technology, so one can only hope to find one laying around.

Description

Force Shield is a Heavy Shield obtained from buying it for 50 Star Quartz from the Fat Chocobo at Town of Amore. It provides 40 DEF, 8 SPR, and +10% resistance to Fire, Ice, and Lightning.
