Final Fantasy XV[]

The radio in the Regalia serves as a music player. The player can also purchase the portable MP3 player from the car shop to listen to the music on the field.

The player can choose to play tracks from previous Final Fantasy titles, which can be bought as albums from various shops in the world. When listening to music on the field, the music is interrupted in battles. As of patch 1.05, the music player can be used even while riding a chocobo.

Final Fantasy XVI[]

The Hideaway's background music can be changed with the music player, initially located in the Fat Chocobo eatery. New tracks are unlocked by game progress and purchasing them from vendors. The Orchestrion was built by Midadol Telamon.

Final Fantasy Tactics[]

FFT-Music Player

The Music Player.

In the Japanese version the player can access a hidden Sound Test menu by inputting BGMききたい on the name entry screen. Pressing Select on each track displays a commentary by its composer, sometimes comical or nonsensical. This Sound Test also contains otherwise unused tracks and fanfares.

This Sound Test is inaccessible in the localized versions of the original game, but the War of the Lions port does feature it. If the player starts a new file with the name "PolkaPolka" as Ramza Beoulve's name, they will be taken to the Sound Test menu where they can listen to all the tracks in the game with oddly-named titles. It is the only way to listen to the tracks from the Sound Novels in the localized versions.

The Final Fantasy Legend[]

The player can access the Sound Test menu by holding Down, Start and the B button while on the title screen. They may need to hold them for a few seconds. There is a bug involving the Sound Test and the "Sing" ability.

Music players can be found in every cafe in the form of a gramophone that costs 1 GP to listen to per available track. Tracks are unlocked as the player progresses. There is also a gramophone in the inn in Edo.

By holding the Select, Start and B buttons while on the title screen, the player opens the Sound Test. A bug occurs where the save-counter value from the loading screen is carried over if the player happens to go there first, leading to overflow and illegal values for the Sound Effect option.

Dissidia Final Fantasy (2008)[]

After completing at least two Destiny Odysseys, the Museum is unlocked. A music player is in the Theater along with cutscenes and character voices. New tracks can be bought in the PP Catalog after completing Shade Impulse 4 and unlocking Gabranth and Shantotto.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[]

The game has to be completed to unlock the Museum. The jukebox can be used like in Dissidia, but without the Theater selection, as the Theater is now its own selection.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy[]

The music player is located in the Museum and can be accessed after a single song is unlocked for it. Songs can be unlocked by accumulating Rhythmia. Tracks played have a set length, but can be set to loop. They can be sorted by song title, type (BMS, EMS or FMS) or game of origin, and players can register their favorite songs in a special list so they can find them more easily. By plugging headphones in the Nintendo 3DS, players can listen to music even when the 3DS is closed.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call[]

The Music Player is unlocked as soon as the player gets music for it. It works the same as it did in the previous game, except that tracks are unlocked in groups sorted by game of origin, as opposed to one at a time.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]

A Music Room can be accessed via the Library sub-menu where the player can mark any track acquired by way of event for play on the Party menu. Only one track may be marked at a time, but selections range from original in-game music to compilation album tracks to exclusive remixes and medleys.

Other interactable music players[]
