Bestiary entry[]

Page 1: Observations[]

When it so happens that a dragon lives long enough to forget its own mortality, it becomes a dragon lich. Once zombified, it will never know true death. Unless it is somehow reminded, the creature is doomed to wander for an eternity. This phenomenon is believe to be a product of the dragon's iron will, in combination with its startling vitality. Interestingly, there are recorded cases of dragons being freed from zombification. Whether this be achieved by some secret means, or by fatal force, the result is, of course, the same.

Page 2: Torn Note[]

Is an empty vessel not waste, to be freely discarded? And if it is, then is a body bereft of the soul not the same? No matter how dear the friend, should they perish, and their soul move on, what's left behind is naught but a shell. But then... why am I so vexed? If this body is truly waste, they why do I despise the corpse flies that gather about it so?

Battle[]

Dragon Lich has a wide array of physical and magickal attacks, with which it can do damage, deplete MP to prevent the player using spells (Fearga), inflict status effects (Bio, Stop, Blindga, and its normal attack has a 4% chance of inflicting Petrify), remove status buffs (Dispelga), and inflict instant death (Death). It absorbs dark damage and is weak to holy.

Strategy[]

Weapons with the holy element, such as Holy Lance and Excalibur, can be useful for damaging Dragon Lich. These are especially strong if the player can wear them alongside the White Robes.

Equipping Ribbons will protect against most of the status ailments Dragon Lich can inflict, barring Death.

Although Dragon Lich is immune to most status ailments, it is still vulnerable to a few. Confuse will temporarily stop it from attacking the party, though this status will have to be constantly reapplied. Poison will help rack up damage over time. Oil will make it take triple damage from the fire element, potentially useful if the player is not using holy weapons. Slow will reduce the rate at which it performs actions.

Etymology[]

A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, which is featured in the myths of many cultures.

In fantasy fiction, a lich is a type of undead creature. Often such a creature is the result of a transformation, as a powerful magician or king striving for eternal life uses spells or rituals to bind his intellect to his animated corpse and thereby achieve a form of immortality.
