The Caravan is a location in the original Final Fantasy which consists solely of a merchant caravan. In the original NES version, the Bottled Faerie, a key item required to progress through the story, is the only item sold, and the Caravan is no longer accessible once the player has used it. In later versions, the caravan shop starts selling other items once the Bottled Faerie has been purchased, which differ depending on the version.

The background music that plays in the Caravan is Final Fantasy's "town theme", although the theme that plays inside the caravan shop is "Shop".

In the original NES version, the airship can land right on top of the Caravan, making it the only desert square that the airship can land on. It is also possible in that version to buy the Bottled Faerie multiple times, although it will still be counted as one item in the player's inventory and will disappear after being used once.
