The Captain is an enemy from Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-.
He dons the red bandanna found on officers of Shinra's army. Two versions of him are fought in the game, first is in Nibelheim and second is in the epilogue alongside Shinra Troop.
They are relatively easy to defeat but it wouldn’t matter when facing the second version because the battle is unwinnable.
An injured Zack later fights a Captain and two Shinra Troops but their HP is infinite and therefore they cannot be defeated.

Captain and chief officer are overlapping terms, formal or informal, for the commander of a military unit, the commander of a ship, airplane, spacecraft, or other vessel, or the commander of a port, fire department or police department, election precinct, etc. Captain is a military rank in armies, navies, coast guards, etc., typically at the level of an officer commanding a company of infantry, a ship, or a battery of artillery, or similar distinct unit.
