Battle[]

There is a 3/4 chance that the Ark Dragon will cast the Enemy Skill Flame Thrower on the character with the highest current HP, so one should ensure the Enemy Skill Materia is equipped onto that character. Ethers can also be stolen from it.

Ark Dragon is not a difficult enemy to defeat, but will always appear in a group of other monsters, such as Crawlers or Castanets. One Matra Magic is more than enough to handle it with a group, and if that does not defeat it, then a couple physical attacks afterward should be enough.

Ehrgeiz - Ark Dragon

Ark Dragon is found on the 21st floor of the Forsaken Dungeon. It serves as the second boss of the dungeon before the final boss. It is fought in the room above the Guardian Dragon. Defeating the Ark Dragon will result in killing the character that defeated it.

Etymology[]

The first part of the enemy's name may derive from the words "arc", "ark", or "arch", which can all be written the same when transliterated into Japanese. "Arc" would be relevant due to the curvature of the neck. "Arch" is a common prefix applied to monsters. The prefix "arch" comes from the Greek árchos (leader), árchein (to be the first, command)

A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, which is featured in the myths of many cultures.
