An Animist from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

The Animist (動物使い, Dōbutsu Tsukai?, lit. Animal Trainer or Trainer [1]), abbreviated as ANM, is a recurring job, exclusive to moogles, that has appeared in the Ivalice game series.

Unlike the recurring Beastmaster job, Animist do not take control of enemy units, they instead summon animals to aid them in battle for a variety of effects.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance[]

Animist (ANM) is a job for moogles. Animists rely on the aid of the animal kingdom in battle, and can really turn the tide of battle. Most abilities involve using the animal for personal gain, but some abilities can damage opponents. Animists use the power of musical instruments in their time of need.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[]

Animist is a job usable by moogles, that calls on animals to help in battles. It primarily focuses on inflicting buffs and debuffs, along with a fairly potent healing ability.

Etymology[]

Animist is someone who practices Animism (from Latin animus "soul, life"). It is the worldview that non-human entities (animals, plants, and inanimate objects or phenomena) possess a spiritual essence. Animism is used in the anthropology of religion as a term for the belief system of some indigenous tribal peoples, especially prior to the development of organized religion.
