Fastitocalon is an enemy from Final Fantasy VIII. In the Japanese version, it is known as Focalor. It first appears as a fin sticking out of the ground, much like Fastitocalon-F. The only way to tell the difference between the two once the battle starts is that this monster has a much deeper and more distinct cry than its counterparts.

EtymologyEdit

Fastitocalon is another name for Aspidochelone, a legendary sea monster who's back resembled an island that would lure sailors to their doom. Fastitocalon is also mentioned in an old-English poem called The Whale and is a name for the Devil.
